What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
Morning lads,
Standard commute to work and was thinking it's fight week (Joshua vs Takam) but no chance of me purchasing this fight I bought the Klitschko fight and was value for £ but the fight in Cardiff doesn't excite me.
Usually I'm constantly refreshing the youtube content (interviews etc.) but for this fight couldn't really give a flying phuck.

Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
I’m going to this show, so obviously won’t be buying the PPV. But generally I will only buy one if the main event is so attractive that I don’t want to miss it under any circumstances (e.g. Joshua v Kiltschko, Brook v Spence). Otherwise I won’t bother, and rarely buy PPVs these days.

I don't think it's a bad fight myself nor was the paulev fight ,out of the active heavyweights who's a better match other than wilder and Parker? Fury isn't fighting Ortiz and povetkin failed drugs Tests AJ has already beat whyte Klitschko has retired . Takem is the second best fighter AJ has fought after Wladimir .
Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
Not buying this one, bought nearly everyone even though i shout from the rafters about hiw much of a rip off it is. The price has gone up aswell from 16 to 20 and soon it will be 25 then 30 and it will just keep goin up and up,ppl need to stop buying really. Csnelo vs GGG was well worth it just for the main event but this isnt so defo no
Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
I'll be buying this one but only because it my turn to host some friends and play poker. The main event is interesting in the sense that takem does seem to have a head of concrete, and will be interesting to see if RM has had any words about AJ after the Wlad fight and his lack of mobility.
Would i be buying it, if it wasnt an excuse for a few beers then probably not, just wait until the next day on youtube like i did with eubank and groves recently.

If I’m on my tod then it’s about the undercard and main event, if it’s value for money then I’ll happily fork out the cash.
If it’s a gang of mates coming around then it matters less, it’s all about the craic with boxing almost secondary to the night. A few quid each, carry out, Indian is a very cheap night.

Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
Identical to my response. I am going too but will buy them if it is something I really want to watch. I watch most free to air or easily accessible stuff have done for 33 years, but with PPV I do not just buy unless it is one I am looking forward to and anticipating, as much as I hate the model, rather than being a martyr, I shell out the twenty quid. My little stance of refusing is not going to make any difference to the system and is only going to take away an evening of enjoyment for me.Boxerbeetle wrote:I’m going to this show, so obviously won’t be buying the PPV. Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
Ability to keep for prosterity is key for me. I wanted to buy the Fury vs Parker one but the ability to legally download and to place onto DVD (and lack of answers to my questions) was key to my decision not to buy it.
Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
Im starting to buy them less and less. Normally the fights are posted up on youtube within 20/30 mins of them happening. So why bother.
However if they're PPV worthy ie Groves-Eubank jnr then ill buy them.

Good Heavyweight Fight
Good undercard
Fighters in their Prime, not just a name.

I hope someone will tell Eddie on camera, that world title fights don't make a PPV. Competitive world title fights however...

Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
I would guess that I buy around 3/4 of all UK PPVs.
I’m not buying this one as I just don’t really care about it but if I want to see a contest then I’ll buy it.
As I’ve said on here before, I believe that the options are buy it or don’t watch it, I don’t agree with stealing sports and movies etc.

Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
Funnily enough I'd ALWAYS buy the PPV if I was going - to watch it properly after.Boxerbeetle wrote:I’m going to this show, so obviously won’t be buying the PPV. For example, I went to Froch Groves II @ Wembley.., several people the next day said, "ooh that must have been good, didn't Groves enter the arena in a London bus?"
I was gobsmacked - had literally no idea that happened and I was there ?!
Also remember Calzaghe vs Manfredo - was like watching two ants fighting @ the end of my garden @ the Millenium. Had a great night out, atmosphere etc, but I loved getting home to watch it all properly..
Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
Dunno whether to buy this one or not. Probably not.
See what I'm doing on Saturday, and whether I can be arsed.

Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
I normally buy the PPV's - I pretty much watch any boxing that is on TV, even though sometimes you have t pay £15-20 for it. But if I'm being honest I'm not at all interested in this fight for some reason - especially after all the changes.
If it was:
AJ V Pulev
Buglioni v Johnson
Allen v Thomas - It looks like Lenroy is pulling out
Than I probably would get the PPV. Yafai v Ishida is the only fight on the card that I would be interested in.

Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
This weekends is dogshìt! I don't for a second believe Takam is anywhere near fit for a fight of this magnitude. He's there to make the numbers up and get paid. I know he's tough but if it goes by 4 I'll be surprised. No way I'll be buying this. I'll try n stream it but I won't lose any sleep if I can't get a stream. I'll maybe go to my mates and he might have it on.
If the main and undercard is good value I'll usually buy it. If it's a middle of the road type card it'll depend on what I've got on the night of the PPV. If I'm bored and at a loose end I'll buy it. I'm not buying the dodgy ones anymore. I used to buy em all but I've became more cynical the last couple years.

Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
I pretty much used to just buy them all but purely on principle I'm becoming more selective. There is basically one PPV a month now and given I'm already forking out over £120 a month for Virgin I'm very reluctant to pay any more unless I really want to see the fight. The AJ fight is a total mismatch and there's nothing I'm that interested in watching on the undercard either so even though I'll probably be staying in on Saturday night I won't be buying the PPV.
I'll very likely buy Haye v Bellew 2 as I do want to see that one as the first fight left lots of questions unanswered for me but I won't bother with this.

Re: What factors would make you purchase a PPV?
Stream them all now unless its a unmissable one.....
