Buglioni vs Johnson - off?

Post by magnus »

Callum Johnson has just posted on Facebook that he's pulled out of Saturday's fight because of injury/health reasons (annoyingly, it is that vague).

Shame, was looking forward to that, best matched bout on the card.

Been in Hospital since weekend apparently - more health issue than injury likely.

Craig “Spider” Richards is the replacement.

Shame, this looked like the best fight on the card.

Johnson seems to always be injured.

Beginning to wish I had not forked out for this one now. Was looking forward to this one, thought it would be a tasty battle, Buglioni entertains.

Is the Allen fight on or off at the moment?

Card is really poor. I hope this reflects in the PPV numbers. People need to stop buying this hyped up crap that matchroom are giving us.

So that's now 3 scheduled fights have been canceled/changed. AJ vs Pulev, Allen vs Thomas and Buglioni vs Johnson. Yet if you request a refund you're denied.

This card is not PPV worthy at all. These are the kind of cards which should air on Sky Sports to get the masses interested in boxing.

Burton should have been allowed to step in.
Would have got to see the Yarde vs. Buglioni/Burton winner much sooner also...

I wasn’t initially too bothered about the main event changing as sh!t happens in boxing so you have to expect injuries now & again. But to have 3 of the headline fights cancelled/changed is extremely disappointing, refunds really should be available now (not that I’d bother to get my ticket refunded as I’m just looking forward to having a night out at a big event).

This was probably the only proper 50/50 fight on the card. I've only watched Richards once, think it was one of those NXT GEN shows at York Hall. He beat another undefeated fighter but didn't look anything too special for me. If Burton, who has better skills and power couldn't quite keep Buglioni off for the full 12, I expect Frank to beat Richards inside the distance.

Johnson is a sick note. Career fulled with injuries and pull outs. Disgrace how he was made mandatory in the 1st place. Say what you want about Yardes opponent's but at least he was fighting, he should have been made mandatory. Johnson does not fight for over a year then somehow gets made mandatory and now this, another pull out.

Massive opportunity for Richards and an even bigger step up from the one Summers had to make when he fought Frank last time out, Richards has only fought 1 guy with a winning record and he's only had 9 fights but its a risk well worth taking, Buglioni's been showing some decent skills lately and he boxed clever against Summers, he's still been aggressive but he's been more measured and has reigned it in a bit when he sees the opponents not ready to go

I don't know anything about Richards but I cant see him lasting 12 rounds with a strong fighter like Buglioni
