To be fair, Foreman didn't get a chance to become tired during the first Frazier fight, as he spent more time in a neutral corner waiting for the referee to dust Smokin' Joe down for the umpteenth time, plus Joe lasted less than 2 rounds.Kalan wrote:True... Foreman showed he had stamina when he was weighing 250.. Basically 33 pounds heavier than his best performance..
Foreman showed no sign of tiring in the 1st Frazier fight... He threw a lot of sharp punches without loading up and it looked like he could continue doing that all night.. You DO have a major problem with stamina when you start camp at 275 and take off 50-odd pounds.. That's nuts! ... You damned sure know all about it too...If you track your times for your roadwork... or spar a lot of rounds with fresh sparring partners... you know your stamina is shiit.

True enough ... But you also get winded after a hard flurry of punches like you do from a 10-second wind sprint.. It doesn't take much.. That's a lot of effort he's expending for a 15-round fight if it miraculously goes that far.. You can tell right away if a guy is in great shape and the other fellow is in for a tough night, by how hard he's going.. If he starts out real slow and looks like he's trying to fake his way through rounds without doing much?? ... He's got stamina issues.
