Sky commentary last night: The Two Andys
Sky commentary last night: The Two Andys
What did people think of the Andy Clarke and Andy Lee combination last night?
Personally I thought they worked really well. Clarke was actually commentating on the action instead of referencing Barrera - Morales or Gatti - Ward every few rounds and commenting on what a "teak tough opponent" the hometown fighter is facing.
Unlike Carl Froch, Andy Lee actually has a good general knowledge of the sport and his insights into tactics were interesting.
I'd like to hear them again but no doubt we'll be back to the usual dribble with Smith & Froch next week.

Much better. It's genuinely physically painful listening to Adam Smith
Re: Sky commentary last night: The Two Andys
Andy Lee is a great co-commentator ,
Knowledgeable and a calm delivery
Bet they ditch him immediately .

Really enjoyed the commentary last night. No shouting!
Much better than having Smith on mic. Why he continues on the mic I don't know. Let the next generation come through!

I don’t really remember the Sky commentary from last night, so it must have been a lot better than usual.

I missed Adam.....
Re: Sky commentary last night: The Two Andys
If you don't remember it or nobody is complaining on here they must have done a good job - I haven't seen John Rawling moaned about on here for quite a while now - I think he's decent and always seems to have a good co commentator along side himBoxerbeetle wrote:I don’t really remember the Sky commentary from last night, so it must have been a lot better than usual.

I thought it was good. Andy Lee obviously has very good knowledge of boxing in general and particularly Irish boxing. Sitting through Froch trying to pretend he knew anything about the undercard fighters would have been painful. Andy Clarke's commentary doesn't really grip you in the big moments in fights, but I'll take his calm delivery of accurate information over Smith belting out shite while he creams his pants any day.

Think people have started to tune Rawling out personally or don't watch enough BN to care. .rossij8 wrote:If you don't remember it or nobody is complaining on here they must have done a good job - I haven't seen John Rawling moaned about on here for quite a while now - I think he's decent and always seems to have a good co commentator along side himBoxerbeetle wrote:I don’t really remember the Sky commentary from last night, so it must have been a lot better than usual.

I like Froch, but of all the former pro's to have on the mic....I'd prefer they brought Bruno back, I hear him and Arry were the boys.

I think Adam Smith is the only appropriate commentator. No one captures the excitement of the moment like he does. Haters need to confess and latch onto his dick..... peace
Re: Sky commentary last night: The Two Andys
I quite like Tony Bellew, especially if it's Puddlies going at it, because he does tend to have a bit of local knowledge. I don't mind his voice either, it's soothing.
so kill me please..

Were they commenting on Sky Saturday ? Well I didn’t even notice, so fecking excelllent, I know I would have been squirming in pain if it was the godawful Smith and any combination of his numbnutted cronies like Froch ( waste of f****ing space, just repeats what Smith says ) Paul smith ( droningly bad, like persistent tooth ache ) Darren ( can barely strings 2 words together on a good day, thick as a plank ) - I cancelled months ago, and watch on a mates virgin account on the laptop if they show anything decent.
BN _ Rawling and Woodhalll are a much better combo than Rawling Jones, there’s mutual respect there, while to me it sounds very awkward with Jones, as it’s clear Barry thinks Rawling is a bit of a twerp.
I really like Barry, but he’s much better with Bunce in the studio, they both like each other for a start.

I remember BN covered a show from Eastern Europe a few years ago (can’t remember which one or where, think it was Poland or Russia or maybe one of those bizarre Chechnya shows) and Rawling spent half the time perving on the girls around the arena instead of calling the action. Jones was clearly embarrassed by it and tried to stay professional, but that’s probably an explanation of why he thinks Rawling is a Partridge-esq twerp.MightyWarrior wrote:Were they commenting on Sky Saturday ? Although as current boxing commentators go, Rawling is one of the best for me, along with Andy Clarke. Shame there’s not much else British talent out there.

I have always liked Andy Lee, he is a thoughtful bloke who knows his boxing inside out. Bomber loves it too, and I have enjoyed when Paulie Malingaggi has come over as well.

Ha yes that sounds Full Alan Partridge, Barry must’ve been thinking get me out of here, but agree JR is not too bad as a stand-alone, just him and bazza have zero chemistry but he’s miles ahead of that sky team of blue arsed baboons.Boxerbeetle wrote:I remember BN covered a show from Eastern Europe a few years ago (can’t remember which one or where, think it was Poland or Russia or maybe one of those bizarre Chechnya shows) and Rawling spent half the time perving on the girls around the arena instead of calling the action.
