Mayweather training for 2018

Post by imaioral »

Recently posted on his Instagram, Mayweather seems restarting training a for 2018 bout and the possible opponents are ranging among MacGregor, GGG and Canelo. I think he is risking a lot, one slip and his "0" go away. What do you guys think about it? Worth the comeback? For beating Ricardo Lopez record?

The professional record of Ricardo López has been blemished, whereas Money May's hasn't.

And Floyd Mayweather Jr. isn't making a ring return unless he receives a guaranteed nine figure payday against a very beatable opponent.

I wouldn't expect rematches against the likes of Pacquiao or McGregor would be capable of generating the sort of revenue required to make Floyd's $100m+ payday financially viable, but I could be wrong (since I don't know if MMA fans possess the appetite to see their man face Mayweather again). So we should consider Floyd permanently retired.

Money May shouldn’t entertain the idea of making a ring return against a hungry young lion or against a bigger opponent for a relatively small payday, since I don’t like to witness past-their-prime fighters suffer defeats against physically superior, but much less talented, opponents.

maybe he saw enough flaws aganst canelo (floyd schooled) to favour chances aganst ggg? i personally beleve floyd of a few years ago would clearly have outboxed ggg. would be another great addton to floyds resume if he were the one to fnally beat the hyped monster. tbh cant see at all how ggg would have beaten pre-berto 147-154 floyd even were the fght at 160. wouldnt have layed a glove on a defensve genius at that level.

whoever though im not convnced that he wont fght agan. just stll so much money to be made for guy who obsessed wth it.already returned multple times from announcng retirement.maybe he gets that itch too. boxng has been hs life.

With the freedom to take whatever PEDs he desires and with 2/3'rds of the judges in his pocket, why would you stop boxing.

Cheaters always get caught for coming back one time too many and that's when they get caught. Floyd will be no different i bet.

He only posted a video of him on the bag, hardly confirmation of a return. Boxers like to tease comebacks, but I hope Mayweather has more sense than to go through with it. He shouldn't need to box again and it'd only be risking his undefeated record/health at this stage. Chances are it would add very little to his resume, with the exception of Canelo. There's nobody at 147/154 that adds great value to Floyd's career imo.

Yes, he's caught in a trap of his own making. The money is just too big to walk away now.

Besides he can only preserve his own mythos by continuing to box. Desperate times for Floyd.

Hope he doesn’t come back

Canelo - he’s beat him clearly already

Mcgregor - showed why he’s in mma and not boxing

Pacquaio - pretty much finished

Golovkin - wrecks him at 160 imo

Let the guys on the scene do there thing now. Crawford, Spence, Garcia, loma etc

I’ve got Floyd on instagram. The main thing I see is he needs adulation. He posts pure shite just now. All his jewellery, always posting about his whorehouse in Vegas, last week he was walking to his plane while chatting with his pilot “Yes, Mr Mayweather, sir”

He will come back.

From -$110m a fight to $50 Off the Top on a blowjob...I don’t get it. He’s like a small time pimp with that place.

I think that when it is all written and said about Floyd's life and career it will still end up being a cautionary tail because when there's no more circus in town. When he can't come up with some money making off the wall matchup to grab any more 9 figure paydays, things will begin to come crashing down hard. Some say that he needed this fight with Conor to stay out of jail given his tax evasion..what's going to happen when he doesn't have the public to bail him out anymore? To me, Floyd will be behind bars eventually for one thing to another.

There is always some douche bag hoping and praying their little bigot fantasy of Floyd's demise is just around the corner. It's not taken seriously, but the hate is clearly real. People like Caldo prove, not every ejaculation deserves a name.

Is the reason 1 isn’t at a weight he’s ever fought at, and the other 3s careers have never overlapped with his whatsoever?

Basically it sounds like people are reading "Comeback" into the fact that Floyd Mayweather is working out and staying in shape. He's been a gym rat his whole life, why would he stop training just because he's retired?

Sugar Ray Leonard still works out too.

Add Lomachenko to the list of ducked fighters as well. B*tch Mayweather ate his way out of the division!

What could you possibly deduce from the MacGregor fight?

Floyd still beats Canelo (80%).

Searching for the next fixed fight against a huge draw opponent. Won't be Golovkin, Spence because in a REAL FIGHT he'd lose.

One possibility is the Canelo rematch -- Floyd might agree to throw that fight like Canelo threw the first - And Floyd could demand a future % of all of Canelo's future fights. That would set him up with a heavy revenue stream as Canelo (if he ducks GGG rematch) is going to be a gigantic cash cow for the next decade.
