Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Disappears - Nacho Gives Him Ultimatum

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Hall of Fame trainer, Nacho Beristain, is very annoyed with former WBC middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (50-3-1, 32 KOs).

Earlier this month, Nacho revealed that Chavez Jr. was going to return during the first weekend of December. The veteran trainer was planning to start their training camp on October 22 at his home in Los Angeles.

According to Nacho, the boxer was initially was going to return on Friday December 1 or Saturday December 2 - and the fight would take place at 168-169 pounds.

Now everything is up in the air, because Nacho has been unable to reach the boxer for several days, and he says Chavez Jr. stopped calling him.

Nacho also points out that he now has a conflict, because Rey Vargas is scheduled to defend his title on December 2 in the co-feature to Miguel Cotto's retirement card in New York's Madison Square Garden.

Because Chavez Jr. has gone MIA, Nacho has committed to working with Vargas for that date - but he's still willing to work Chavez's corner on a separate date in the month.

There is a new working date for Chavez's return - December 16.

But unless Nacho hears from the boxer in 10 days, he is not working his corner. Nacho also said Chavez Jr. was reverting back to his old training habits.

"It is difficult to communicate with him, he has not responded. And I think it will be difficult for him to fight. He does not call me anymore and I am committed to Rey Vargas. They told me now that he may not fight until December 16 - but that is not confirmed," Nacho told ESPN Deportes.

"I was with him [on a recent trip to California]. We spoke, but I did not like that he wants to train again at night. He does not want to run in the morning but instead wants to do it on a treadmill and I do not like it. I'll give him 10 more days [to call me], from now until the 3rd of November to know if he is interested in working with me or not."

Chavez Jr. might as well disappear. Who wants to watch him fight? He'll never be a world champion again.

Jr will be enjoying the $7m payday he got for losing weight then getting punched.
He's not going to get paid like that again so I doubt he'll ever be seen in any type of gym again. Good riddance.

I couldn't understand why Nacho would allow his reputation to be crapped on by Jr the first time. The only reason he is interested going again must be that he has his eye on an expensive villa to retire to.
