anyone know much about him? won an aba title and was based in uk, but then represented ghana in the olympics and now seems to fight for them.i saw some of him and was impressed. fast, explosive fighter (though very very short even for 122). the other night dominated (according to reports) and stopped the argie mcdonnell had competitive-ish fight with for wba title.
did no major uk promoter want him?

Re: issac dogboe
going for wbo interim title on saturday vs a pretty tough mexican cesar juarez who gave donaire a rough night and then stopped an unbeaten 26-0 filipino propsect.
no one seems to care about him but just thought id put it out there since hes a former aba champ
pretty solid 17-0 record and juarez would be a good win http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/661447

Re: issac dogboe
btw can someone explain to me how he competed in the senior novice abas the same year he competed in the olympics. does the senior novices only count senior bouts, so like you can have loads of junior bouts but if you just turned senior you still get counted as a novice.
Re: issac dogboe
In amateur boxing all contests count junior or senior including any other combat experience whatever it might be. What does happen if a boy has come to this country with boxing experience most coaches will only declare x amount when applying for a medical card so he can fit inside the 10 for class A or 20 class B novice competition but I don't know if that applies to Isaac because I do not know him.
Re: issac dogboe
dogboe stopped him in 5 and scored multiple kds. donaire couldnt stop juarez and was given absolute hell. dogboes very talented.

Look at him he'll be nothing more than a belt holder. Don't think he'll beat Vargas though.
Re: issac dogboe
not impressed by vargas. dogboe beats him.juarezs actually tougher than anyone vargass beat imo.
dogboes world class imo and still very young

Re: issac dogboe
Just watched this fight. I think Dogboe is too flat footed to beat Vargas, a come forward fighter like Juarez suited Dogboe last night and Vargas and Magdeleno have more to their game.
Dogboe does look like he carries legit power in both hands though. Should be an interesting year for him.
Hopefully he fights Magdeleno in a few weeks . If Jessie moves up then the rankings suggest Dogboe v Diego De La Hoya later in the year.

Re: issac dogboe
Dogboe was at the Fitzroy Lodge for a few seasons. I remember wondering if he was an actual Pygmy (I’m trying not to be offensive). I used to call him mini Joe Frazier because he resembled joe a little facially and had the same stumpy physique and style.... he was very strong and punched hard. But at that stage I honestly thought he would do nothing. Let alone win the ABAs. Let alone box in the Olympics. Let alone make a mark as a pro. It shows how wrong you can be..... I hope he smashes it
Re: issac dogboe
Decent little performance from Isaac, thought the stoppage was fair as well despite Juarez moaning and feeling cheated.
