Rocky Fielding Added To Bellew vs. Haye 2 Undercard

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

British and Commonwealth Super Middleweight champion Rocky Fielding (25-1, 14 KOs) will return to action on the Tony Bellew-David Haye 2 undercard on December 17 at the O2 Arena, London.

The 30-year-old Liverpudlian - ranked number five with the IBF - added the Commonwealth strap at the end of last month stopping Scotland's David Brophy inside one round. It was Fielding's second fight of the year after a split decision victory over John Ryder in April to win the vacant British title.

Fielding had been hoping to fight again this year, or early next year, against either European champion Hadillah Mohoumadi or the WBA's 'World' champion at 168lbs Tyron Zeuge.

Mohummadi, however, will make the first defence of his title against former Fielding foe Christopher Rebrasse on November 10 in Paris. Mohoumadi will hope this maiden defence lasts longer than the one he had against Callum Smith when he held the title last year, only for Smith to thump it out of his hands in the first round.

At time of writing there was no concrete opponent for Fielding, who will join Lenroy Thomas against Dave Allen on the Dec 17 show. Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed to iFL TV that Thomas versus Allen, originally due to take place this Saturday on the Joshua-Takam undercard, will be rescheduled with Thomas's Commonwealth Heavyweight title still on the line. Thomas and Allen fought for the vacant title in Sheffield in May with the Jamaican awarded a split decision verdict over 12 rounds.

They won't fight Parker as a volentary defence. Wasn't their rumours of skoglund v fielding a couple weeks ago being made.

Is Parker that good a prospect? Haven't seen him fight yet.

think underrated rocky would beat zeuge. z is just barely better than de carolinas, who btw got dominated last fight. z given hell by some random nigerian stiglitz won every round against, but z got a lucky out on a td.

Zeuge won't be risked against anyone remotely dangerous unless there is a fortune on offer.

Skoglund would be a decent fight, he will probably out box Fielding over twelve unless Rocky can land something big.

Personally think Ryder deserves a rematch, I thought he was unlucky with the result in the first

Ryder might get a shot at someone though as Nielsen was WBA no1 so he’s bound to be well up their rankings now.

Skoglund looked decent v Smith - that would be decent fight for undercard.
