Just having a butchers at Katie's opponent this Saturday (Anahi Esther Sanchez - she has lovely cheekbones) and noticed that she's ranked 5th at Lightweight by Boxrec (this ain't a Boxrec rating dig thread).
Taylor is ranked 9th.
But Sanchez is only ranked 3rd when it comes to Argentinian female Lightweights. Six of the top eight ladies at that weight are Argentinian. The highest ranked is one Natalia Vanesa del Valle Aguirre who is 8-10-3 with every fight going the distance. She recently lost NINE fights in a row before beating a 14-8-1 fighter - who was coming off a loss herself. But she's number two in the World. She even lost to Sanchez. In fact she's lost to most of the other Argentinians in that group. And the woman she beat is ranked 2nd at Featherweight.
So she lost nine times to female Argentinian Lightweights, then fights a female Argentinian Featherweight and is somehow rated above all of the women who beat her
Anyway, I doubt if many on here are as pathetically anorak as I am but here's the ratings in case anyone is
pathetic divison although i guess not too bad by womens boxing standards
the world 3 is also 5-1 and half her opponents were making debut and she lost to one of them. and taylors world title opponent got kod early a few months ago. but watch after taylor wins ppl try to rate her above men like what happened with rousey
but taylors good and she can only beat whats there. just a shame theres so little of quality

I'm not talking about the quality. That's going to take a generation or two. But it's just weird that there's a conglomeration of Argentinian woman in the top 8, yet the lady that's lost to most of them is ranked highest because she beat someone lower
ya mate i knew wut u were talking about. maybe you can check out the ranking methodology. think it is a sign of poor depth when rankings can suddenly jump like that from seemingly not great win
think it's quite clear from what I've seen so far that the pro ranks has a miles smaller pool of talent than the amateur game for the women at the moment. Taylor looked over the hill until she turned pro IMO
Btw, that was a compliment not an insult. Not sure if she can sing or not, But she can sure, certainly box. So probably would have beaten up Berry Gordy if he tried to tell her what to do. Although I've heard Gordy himself was a boxer in his younger days! So who knows what could have happened there.

It wouldn't make any difference if you did or you didn't. Scream whatever you want. Punches to the chest (whether male or female opponent) rarely have any effect. There was some scaremongering about 10/15 years ago about female boxers being more vulnerable to developing breast cancer (wot? I expect that had a sound scientific basis). But in layman's terms, it was bollocks. (Frank/ Kelly Maloney I'm looking at you. Btw what the hell is going on these days with him/ her?)
