It sounds heavy, but realistically Joshua is getting closer to 30, weight generally goes up in time. It’s all relative really at heavyweight. Reckons he’s been doing a lot more running etc, so we’ll see what his fitness is like.

In heavyweight right now I only see Tyson Fury as being one crafty enough to take Joshua long enough to test out the stamina. So I don’t really see the weight being a problem against most in the division.

He’s so explosive it’s very energy consuming. You can’t just be like breazeale and stand up until the 8th.if Joshua has it all his own way like vs breazeale then he can do the rounds fine. Wlad made him miss a fair bit more and Joshua had to work much harder.

Sure he’s very talented but people are creaming themselves a little too soon with Uysk. It’s the Eastern European thing I guess ( everyone’s tough, ice cold etc...load of bollocks )
Uysk has his hands full at cruiser for the next few months anyway. Ideas of moving up to get knocked out by Joshua should be on the back burner for now.

tension is an element too. if he's comfortable in there and knows whats likely to be coming back at him and isn't afraid of being caught cold or surprised (like Brezeale), he'll be more relaxed and waste less energy, against a guy like Wlad who can box and feint and keep him off balance, his stamina is likely to be much worse IMO

254? Must be a lot of calories in that diet of humble pie.

This is good for the over IMO.

I'm confident that Joshua will take his time in this one and not do anything reckless to make him gas out. He knows Takam is a tough customer and that he's also in shape, so no late replacement issues.

Feel very good about Joshua in 7-12.

When you see all his training videos he does seem genuinely to do a wide range of exercises, for many different muscle groups.

He doesn’t appear to just be pumping iron.

Although obviously you only see what his team let you see.

oh, sure, its not as though he's spending hour after hour bench pressing

nonetheless, given that there is no potential opponent I can think of in the heavyweight division that Joshua does not already greatly out-do in terms of physicality and strength, i wonder if a little bit more time devoted to stamina/speed and skill, and a little bit less to building aready-huge muscles, might be wise.

but then I have never trained any world heavyweight champions, of course.

His physique is half the reason he's such a big star. Even with his ridiculous distented growth gut

I noticed in one photo that he appeared to have a wee bit fat around the waist which usually indicates a fair bit of relaxation ! Doesn't matter though. He could have taken this fight at 24 hours notice and still knock out this donkey. 5 minutes - all over. Referee stops it on 3rd knockdown.

dont think takam is much of a threat even if extra weight hurts aj, but think he can put up game effort, last some rounds, have aj moving back a bit. hes the type to lose gamely whereas i think pulev, although maybe better than takam, wouldve just been straight up splattered as soon as aj opened up. hes tailor made for a guy like joshua. remember that wlad was very close to stopping pulev in 1 and floored him hard with pretty much first shot he landed.
Agree with that. Pulev was always going to be wide open to the straight right but I can see Takam lasting longer than he would have. This could turn out to be a messy, draining fight for Joshua.
