AJ seems in control but theres always that 1 punch.

Joshua takes the 8th round. The blood is flowing from Takam's eyes, but he keeps trying.

Breazeale was tough but Takum is a better opponent because he's fighting back as well as durable.

Yes, it is concerning that he is breathing heavy and dictating the pace.... but off course the nose isn't helping.Covfefe wrote:He’s getting to dictate the pace though, Takam isn’t forcing anything.dave_smith wrote:Yeah stamina always has been a concern, heavier than ever and with a broken nose and having his body pounded. AJ going to earn his spurs tonight.mimmy123 wrote:
Yes, hes blowing I think possibly with broken nose issue.

I still disagree, Pulev could have hurt Joshua and is skilled in his own right.Fearful_Freddie wrote:Takam is nails. Much stiffer test than Pulev.

I dont want to see a Frank Bruno v Tim Witherspoon type ending here. AJ has dominated but Takam is deffo a decent late replacement.

Showtime gave Takam round 7, and I wouldn't argue....

I think Takam just edged his first round in the fight. He landed a clean left hook at one point that seemed to buckle Joshua ever so slightly. At any rate he definitely enjoyed his best success of the fight there.

Pulev is not as tough as Takam, but he is a much better boxer. Styles make fights and Carlos toughness may have given this fight a more interesting edge, but Pulev would have been a much better opponent.

Thought that cut was bad enough to stop him when it happened, and he didn’t like it the way he went to the ref. Thought it was a matter of time then, but he’s dug in, can’t argue with him. Tough guy.

Is the weight causing Joshua to slow down?

Yeah I gave the last round to Takam too.gilgamesh wrote:I think Takam just edged his first round in the fight. He landed a clean left hook at one point that seemed to buckle Joshua ever so slightly. At any rate he definitely enjoyed his best success of the fight there.

Pulev is garbage. He would have been knocked out quickly.
Re: Round-By-Round - Anthony Joshua (c) vs. Carlos Takam - October 28th 2017
I will say this
In no way would Joshua reign in a 'live' HW division, he looks far better in training than when he actually fights
I know he shew grit & heart in Klitschko fight, and Klitschko fought very well, but Klitschko was still getting on..
AJ is reigning b/c the talent pool in the HW div is jank
That's the only reason

Wow...what a garbage stoppage
Re: Round-By-Round - Anthony Joshua (c) vs. Carlos Takam - October 28th 2017
Why let him go through that to stop him then?

Anti-climactic finish.

Poor stoppage I'm afraid by the referee
Re: Round-By-Round - Anthony Joshua (c) vs. Carlos Takam - October 28th 2017
Really bad stoppage IMO. Interesting that Froch is suggesting it was early also!
