Takams gloves tonigh
Did anyone else notice these? He was wearing pillows that looked like they were sparring gloves while josh wore a pair of punchers gloves. This is what annoys me about boxing cause no way would Takam team put him
In them!

Didn’t notice, will have to have a look on a replay.
Surprised they weren’t wearing the same gloves. And Takam isn’t known as a puncher anyway.

Re: Takams gloves tonigh
I thought it was that Takam had a small head and Joshua's head is bigger - so made the gloves look different.
Re: Takams gloves tonigh
Takam record suggests he can hit to be fair. And defo not Takam was wearing big massive sparring like gloves. A friend of mine spoke of Takam having foam gloves while Joshua had ones filled with thin horse hair which are notorious for cutting opponents. Bit like cleto Reyes reputation.
Re: Takams gloves tonigh
I thought it was just me. I thought Takams gloved looked bigger than Joshua's. Then I was kinda perplex when I noticed they were two different make of gloves too. Aren't they supposed to ware the same make of gloves?

I noticed that the gloves were different and raised a similar issue in another thread regarding gloves. This is not the first time 2 boxers have worn 2 different types of gloves.
Apparently the boxers choose their gloves so its not as if someone gave Takam those gloves and told him to wear them.
Team Takam obviously chose those gloves to wear.

Re: Takams gloves tonigh
I think last night proved Joshua doesn’t hit as hard as the hype train would let us suggest.. Does anyone believe that Takam would of been standing if caught clean like that by Mike Tyson. Boxing is a funny sport where money is always the winner.. I genuinely think Joshua was already gassing and that last flurry would of wiped him out and Takam would of had a sitting target would he of KO’d him probably not bud he had a chance and the ref saved Joshua from that possibility. The gloves looked shocking it seems Hearn is really protecting his cash cow.. PPV last night for a terrible standard show.. Bellew and Froch clear off their nuts on something.. Froch talks some nonsense constantly always shows crazy bias.. I don’t know why I do it but most times I watch Hearns shows I hate boxing..

The only people who think that boxing is'nt full off self interest , look after the home boy , ticket seller , scenarios , are the people who have never activly been a participant in some way ,, Its rife throughout small shows , never mind muti million pound shows ,

I noticed the gloves straight away and who's to say that Takam wasn't 'asked' to wear pillows on his hands for a big pay day

This fight seems to be the biggest conspiricy since the alledged moon landing.bigjack wrote:I noticed the gloves straight away and who's to say that Takam wasn't 'asked' to wear pillows on his hands for a big pay day
Paid off ref, paid off drs, paid off boxer to wear pillows, paid off judges etc etc. Its a load of bollox. There have been worse stoppages in boxing. There seems to have been a lot of pay offs to make absolutely sure AJ won the fight last night.

I was joking Mimmy,Takam was never going to win the fight in a million years lets be honest so it wouldn't matter if he wore steel gloves

Its not just on here the conspiricy theories mate im reading posts on tbe internet too. Honestly its all tosh. You cant pay off every single person involved in the event. Takam was giving a decent go so if his team were paid off he must have read the wrong script.bigjack wrote:mimmy123 wrote:This fight seems to be the biggest conspiricy since the alledged moon landing.bigjack wrote:I noticed the gloves straight away and who's to say that Takam wasn't 'asked' to wear pillows on his hands for a big pay day

They were definitely bigger gloves than he's worn in previous fights - Povetkin, Parker, Perez etc. However, did anyone consider that he might have choose to wear bigger gloves to protect/hide his target areas against the biggest puncher in boxing? He managed to block and deflect a lot of Joshua's work.

Its the boxers or his teams choice what gloves they want to wear. Someone cant just force him to wear anything. You could be right with your assumption.Deno1986 wrote:They were definitely bigger gloves than he's worn in previous fights - Povetkin, Parker, Perez etc. However, did anyone consider that he might have choose to wear bigger gloves to protect/hide his target areas against the biggest puncher in boxing? Is Josh the biggest puncher in boxing? I've always thought his power is overrated.Deno1986 wrote:They were definitely bigger gloves than he's worn in previous fights - Povetkin, Parker, Perez etc. However, did anyone consider that he might have choose to wear bigger gloves to protect/hide his target areas against the biggest puncher in boxing? If he was the biggest puncher in boxing he'd be putting them down and keeping them down,as he has stepped up a level it's evident that his power isn't what his promoter makes out,but he probably is the biggest seller right now, although i still can't quite work out why a fight with Pulev/Takam would sell so well.

The gloves boxers wear is often a stumbling point when drawing up a contract .
100% the A side ( AJ and his team in this case ) can negotiate on which gloves are worn. They work all of this stuff out pre fight, they will try to fiddle any advantage they can get and they are well within there rights to do so

Yes they can, though in those instances, both boxers wear the same gloves.

Re: Takams gloves tonigh
Wouldnt that be a boxing commission who would dictate on which gloves each boxer would wear assuming that they were both wearing the same gloves. I wouldnt imagine a promoter would say one boxer has to wear one set of gloves while another has to wear something more special for example.jamesmcdonnell wrote:mimmy123 wrote:Its the boxers or his teams choice what gloves they want to wear. The age old saying money talks and bull poo walks. Takam record suggested he can whack so they stipulated the gloves. No way would be put them on and allow Joshua to cut him to bits with punchers gloves. I think Takam wanted the fight that bad he’s let them pull his pants down. Seeing them gloves looked like he should have been fighting in the amateurs 20 years ago

Re: Takams gloves tonigh
Surely AJ's team cant make Takam wear what gloves THEY want him to use? Thats like having a duel and you are given a gun but you are told youres isnt loaded.JamieM wrote:The age old saying money talks and bull poo walks.
