Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
I personally think Helenius is garbage and see nothing but a Whyte win here but I have to ask why are the odds so juicy +285 on Whyte decision? Whyte is -650 to win. Are they really doubting Helenius can last 12 with him? He seems durable to me, if not limited. Have to throw some sheckles on the DEC prop at that price.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
have got the Whyte dec win in a couple of accas, Whyte aint exactly a killer and against someone the size of Helenius its easy to see this going the full 12
Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
Unless Helenius is more fragile than I think, he should take Whyte the distance
Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
well he did get stopped pretty damn hard against duhaupas and duhaupas not a puncher. but hed looked fairly sturdy before that against guys i think punch as hard as duhaupas. whyte will beat him handily but i dont really know what to expect as far as how helenius will take the shots. my guess is late accumulation.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
I don't think he's fragile but I remember Dave Allen saying when he sparred Helenius that he gasses very quicklyOssyrules wrote:Unless Helenius is more fragile than I think, he should take Whyte the distance

Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
Dillian Whyte is not a big puncher, but he is moderately skilled, has a fairly decent engine and is one of the few heavyweights that throws shots to the body.
Robert Helenius used to be a fairly decent prospect, but he never quite passed the eyeball test with me. I thought he was good enough to progress to becoming a top-ten world-rated heavyweight, but nothing more.
That being said, I thought that Helenius looked lacklustre during his most recent outing against Evgeny Orlov.
His footwork was atrocious, his defence was porous, his punches had no snap and he was also showing serious signs of fatigue against his horrendously-conditioned Butterbean-esque opponent (who retired on his stool between rounds 6 and 7 for no obvious reason).
Therefore, I expect Dillian Whyte to score a stoppage victory over Robert Helenius during the second half of their bout, because after all, the Swedish born Finn has previously been stopped by the relatively feather-fisted Johann Duhaupas.
Robert Helenius might be capable of lasting the distance against Whyte, if he doesn’t show any signs of ambition and adopts a defensive mind-set, but then this would obviously result in a tedious lop-sided points victory for the Brit.

This fight is unfortunately being played out according to my expectations.Enlightened-One wrote:Dillian Whyte is not a big puncher, but he is moderately skilled, has a fairly decent engine and is one of the few heavyweights that throws shots to the body.

Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
i bet Miller vs Wach to be similar kind of fight, just on slighty higher level as i think Miller is better than Whyte and Wach better than Helenius

Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
What a pile of shît that fight was!
Helenius adopted a journeyman mind-set, lacked ambition and went into survival mode for the vast majority of the fight.
I'm fûckîng mystified about Deontay Wilder's reasoning for demanding more than $7m to face an opponent as limited as Whyte.
That's 47 minutes of my precious life that has been wasted.
I desperately wanted to be proven wrong about my prediction of the outcome of the Helenius-Whyte bout, but I'm very disappointed about being proven right.

Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
Whyte is overrated, i mean, before Joshua fight no one take him serious but since he landed one good punch on then unexperienced AJ, he's seen as clearly top 10 fighter - i once ranked him top 10 too, but i have doubts he beats the likes of Miller, Kownacki, Breazeale, Takam, Duhaupas, maybe Ruiz Jr too
Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
i agree. lol worthy that a lot of ppl are actually talking like hes some super avoided world class heavyweight!dagilechia wrote:Whyte is overrated, i mean, before Joshua fight no one take him serious but since he landed one good punch on then unexperienced AJ, he's seen as clearly top 10 fighter - i once ranked him top 10 too, but i have doubts he beats the likes of Miller, Kownacki, Breazeale, Takam, Duhaupas, maybe Ruiz Jr too

When Whyte firms up his man boobs, he can fight Wilder.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
terrible fight. helenius so unmotivated and slow paced that he didnt remotely try to follow up on hurting whyte. and then whyte couldnt hurt him at all so we got 12 rounds of shit

Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
Sounds like my prediction of "yuck" was spot on.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
That was very disappointing. Helenius looked dangerous early on but faded badly and used his experience to keep out of trouble thereafter. Dillian hasn't done his reputation any good with this one. As one who wants him to do well, I was worried how he was hurt and stiffened by Helenius's punches (one I didn't even see) more or less from the opening bell.
He warmed to his task and looked much less vulnerable and fragile from round three or maybe second half of round two, but as I was watching those opening rounds I'm thinking what if that were Wilder's punches he's eating, and franly I'm a lot less confident about his chances in a fight against Wilder.
If Whyte is still around after the first couple of rounds it might get interesting but on that showing Dillian is going to be reliant on Wilder making his slow start and relying on your opponent doing what you're hoping for, is not tactically sound.

Re: Dillian Whyte vs Helenius
Boost should be surprised it was a stinker surely. Whyte can brawl, but he needs a partner to tango with to put on an exciting fight. Look at a lot of his previous fights and the stank the place out.
