has impressive physical tools at this level but to me it looks like he rushes things looking for a ko and gets a bit sloppy as a result. a bit stiff and crude but obviously powerful. not sure what stamina, chin, etc. are like.

as others said, would like to see him settle down a bit more.

Physically he looks the part. From a boxing point of view he looks red raw though. He’s got much to learn before they look to take a risk of sorts with him. Good job he’s with warren then

I’d take Joyce to out class him for a British title if they met next year

He's very fast, I'm not sure about his chin yet.

No reason to fight Joyce
I’ve heard Joyce is due to fight the Cobra that Haye fought......

Nobody here had Larry as a potential world champ.

About 50% of the British forum had Price as a potential world champ.

Dubois would knock Tom Little out within 6 minutes, easy. In fact, beyond easy.
I had price down as a future world champ. Big advocate of his. David had world class power, just lacked the stamina, chin and heart. I guess he just had the power then :KO:

He's said he's coming back and has the goal is just winning the British title. Seems to have lost ambition for world level. He's got problems at British level at the moment to be honest. If he's going for the British, he's going to run into Joyce and Dubois

well, darch will surely be ko'd but he isnt a bad opponent at this stage. better than dave howe and a sensible early prospect opponent. would like to see dubois-little early next year, and then a guy like nick webb later in the year.

Well realistically he has zero hope at world level.

I would like to see David win the British title again, partly because (I think) one more title win would get him the Lonsdale belt outright. How about a voluntary defence by Sam Sexton? The result would probably be the same as last time when Sam was totally mullered.

Yes his jab is excellent, but he does seem a bit excited to get the early KO (like most heavyweights to be fair).

I rate his power too, he has dropped some pretty durable guys in the gym with the sparring gloves.

Needs to loosen up a bit and work on his shot variety but that will hopefully come in time.

A real beast of an athlete in the gym, obviously strong but good stamina and quick for his size too.

do ppl rate this guy mainly on his amateur career and his physical look? because i rewatched his fights and am seeing a strong but pretty basic and stiff guy whose a bit crude as well and has plenty of work to do. i mean hes super young but why do so many act like hes a sure thing champ whod already walk through guys like joyce? is his size and physique simply that overwhelming?

which fights does he really impress you, keeping in mind the opponents and the fact that they may or may not be blown up mexican light heavys or guys destroyed by 4-11 (1) journeymen?i want to try to see what others have spotted

I'm sure I heard Woodhall say that Dubois had the best jab of anyone training in Sheffield.

ya but i just dont see whats so great and he had pretty much no senior amateur career to go by. he physically looks a beast but rather basic and lumbering and doesnt set up his work, and ppl talk up his power on him koing light heavys and guys iced by 4-11 (1) journeymen. no doubt has potential what have ppl seen thats so special and which fights.

help me see the highly impressive talent and not just the adonis physique. im not smart enough to see the truth when no one else does. ppl are prob right about dubois but im struggling and a bit slow to catch up.

People are so excited because there's an expectation that at only 20, he will become better and better. He needs to show improvement in the next 12 months.

Apparently you do not get paid unless you drop him, goes for the Fly representative too.

Seriously, I do not know how the feck Okolie managed it as I watched that guy up close in his last fight (was front row as stadium was empty so just sat wherever, and was right next to his crew) and he looked like he was underwater tbh. My daughter, bless her said: "At this level, are they not allowed to hit as hard as they possibly can?" So I explained that they all do, just some do not hit very hard.

whenever you get a new fighter with 4-0 records etc all his friends post on boxrec with things like 'I think Anthony Joshua/ Tyson Fury/ deontay wilder/ would be a good warm up for him ' etc

lets just wait

he wont be fighting anyone with a pulse for a good few months...maybe not even in 2018

Dubois is faster as any heavyweight it seems, domehow I don't know about his chin and neither about his actual fighting skills. I don't like the kind of opposition he has had yet, they didn't look like real heavyweights to me.
