Another observation is that SKY Sports customers seem to be getting a bit of a raw deal in terms of the amount of shows and quality of the shows. Eddie's deal with SKY is for 20 live shows per year. The PPV's and NXT GEN shows where supposed to be additional dates. Through to the end of 2017 Eddie would have put on 22 shows in total. 5 of the 22 shows where PPV and about another 3 or 4 where NXT GEN shows. Piss poor.

Looks like SKY and Eddie are wrapping things up early his year on SKY Sports. Eddie only has 2 more cards left being his show from Monte Carlo on 4th November and his card from New York on 11th November. After this he has Bellew Vs. Haye II but that's on SKY Box Office. I'm not sure if he has plans for another SKY Sports show before the year is out? His first show this year was at the end of February. A 3 and a 1/2 month break to look forward to then

That’s good research Chad. Yeah poor show from Fast Car but at least we’ve got Frank and Haye productions

Meanwhile the UFC has a stacked card every weekend until the end of the year.
It's overtaking boxing for sure.
Shame the skill level is so poor at times. I legitimately cringed when watching this KO

Should be plenty of skill on display when Garbrandt & Dillashaw face off on Saturday.

Sky Sports has the Wilder v Stirvene fight as well?
Sure another show or 2 will be added from Eddie, plus international coverage as well.
Regarding Haye promotions, I think Joyce, MVP and Willy Hutchinson are all mooted for the December 17th card on Sky PPV.

Is it me or is interest a little declining in UFC? I just hear fewer people talking about it, including youngsters.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑30 Oct 2017, 12:36 Meanwhile the upcoming Ufc calendar for the rest of the year is stacked
I lost interest a few years ago, but when Conor exploded it reignited my interest though only in him.
I think one of the problems may be that ‘stars’ don’t last too long in UFC; it’s just too easy to lose as there are so many ways to lose. You don’t get those long unbeaten runs and championship reigns that you get in boxing.
Re: A long cold winter for boxing on SKY Sports
their ppv numbers have dropped but not sure about any major long term decline.
Re: A long cold winter for boxing on SKY Sports
Yes. Not sure of both, but he is putting Katie Taylor out again on the 16th Dec for a first title defense, don't know who else is on the card.Floyd the snake wrote: ↑30 Oct 2017, 12:48 Supposed to 2 more shows to be announced for 2017 ,Birmingham favorite plus another Nextgen show running out of time though now .

There's seldom not SOME sort of noteworthy Boxing going on somewhere in the world on any given weekend, but things definitely slow down in the winter months.
Japan always has a high quality card on New Years Eve every year.

They are talking about having an event in Liverpool with Darren Till headlining. Till could become the McGregor of the UK MMA scene. Funnily enough this weekend GSP is back after 4 years off. He single handedly turned many people off MMA with his boring grappling style. He's been training with Freddie Roach, who will be his cornerman in the fight.
Re: A long cold winter for boxing on SKY Sports
Katie Taylor supposedly headlining a show before the turn of the year, can't see it being the next gen show mooted. My guess is another Liverpool show. Easy access for the irish. Stephen Smith and Fielding due out before the turn of the year and who knows we may get Paul Smith in a 8 rounder against a latvian ready for one last well deserved shot at a world title.

I've been hearing this for almost 20 years now but they both seem to be thriving. But boxing's 'big' fights are doing bigger than ever.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑30 Oct 2017, 13:02 Meanwhile the UFC has a stacked card every weekend until the end of the year.

Re: A long cold winter for boxing on SKY Sports
I certainly hope that at the start of the year that Matchroom don't wait untill the end of Feb again, they should plan a show for January or early Feb at the latest but now there is more competion from others we should have plenty of Boxing on different outlets ie Itv with the WBS and Wazzas Bt it c5 with Cyclone where as a couple of years ago if Sky had little going on it would be a barren landscape.I expect a couple of empty weekends early Jan at most then most weeks we shall have something in somewhere.
Re: A long cold winter for boxing on SKY Sports
The next gen shows are poor and they are taking dates away from the regular shows for sure and I don't class his show in America at silly aclock as one if his dates,Monaco I do as its got 3 fighters in the bill.Hes using next gen and some American content to hide the fact that he's putting out less Sfns and also his fighters being in ppv undercard take away from SFNs
Re: A long cold winter for boxing on SKY Sports
Nothing announced for that from what I can see.....
Re: A long cold winter for boxing on SKY Sports
There will be still I bet

Can't see a brum show. Eggington having a rest and yafia fought last week. No headline and barring gamal yafia no other local fighters r signed to matchroom
