Hobbled during the ring walk...that sounds EVEN MORE like the David Haye we've always known. Guy can't check his mail without throwing something out of whack

Well, I know the few fighters you hate that much will never get credit from you for anything. Fighting with a torn Achilles for several rounds is as tough as it gets.

Nah I give Haye credit for fighting through the injury. He showed a lot of balls that night.

In the case of Haye it's more like a Bobby Heenan, I've always disliked him so I'm just gonna keep disliking him thing, but I respect things he's done, and that's one of 'em.

I think the genuine contempt I once had for David Haye has decreased as his relevance in the sport has.

It makes Boxing more fun to have guys you really like a lot, and guys you really hate. Most fighters I'm indifferent to, and don't feel one way or another about them, the fights are more fun when there's some sort of emotional investment in it be it positive or negative.

My view of the fights themselves are always impartial and unbiased in spite of how I feel about the fighters in question.

He pulled a muscle halfway through their first fight...sounds like the same David Haye we've always known to me

He might lose fair and square who knows :maybe: but he defiantly had a valid reason in the first fight.

This is David "Oh No, My Toe" Haye we're talking about. Of course he'll have an excuse.

Bellew beat Haye.

But, but, Haye is so superior.

Can everyone stop worshipping this washed up old clown now?
Technically yes. There was of course a pretty key factor that decided the fight

No worship here, just fact

Haye just can't hang with Bellew. He got beat by the better man in March, and he'll get beat by the better man in December :OhYes:

WAR TONY!!!
He hung with him pretty well before the injury. 4-1 up. The Achilles injury decided that fight

:TU: personally I’ve always liked haye. I grew up with haye coming thru the ranks. I accept he’s a shadow now though he should never have came back

I liked Haye as a Cruiserweight, as soon as he started calling out the Klitschko's, talking mad sh*t, and then proceeded to sprain his vagina left and right I started to dislike him quite passionately.

Him losing his last fight due to injury was almost comical to me.

agreed; timing, weight, age, injuries ... yet on the other hand he was holding his own with one leg.
He just doesn't seem the same fighter anymore, he's been too inactive. It doesn't help he won't be having any warm up fights either. I think Bellew is right, he has the wrong style for Haye.

Depending on your stance on haye, in fairness it must be immensely frustrating to be so injury prone and having to cancel fights etc

But then if Hayes not your cup of tea it’s hilarious lol

At the beginning of training camps when he was with booth, his timing used to be awful, and he’d look dreadful, but it’d come sharp as the fight got closer. The inactivity will have hurt him big

If Haye comes in anywhere under 214lbs, then I expect him to win by KO in devastating fashion. For all his politeness & eloquence, Haye has that nasty streak. Haye looked lean last time I saw him on TV, which is not good for Bellew.

Who's Haye training with, sparring with, anybody?

He can if he beats a man that isn't shuffling around the ring on one leg .

I think if he beats a 75% fit Haye he will get respect

What's to say his Achilles won't go again?

I think bellew would have won earlier if haye would not have got injured. He took hayes best shots and stood up to them . Then the injury happened and bellew went eyeballs out for the stoppage and gassed himself out a bit. Then it took him a few rounds to get his 2nd wind. If the injury never happened then i think belew would have taken his time and stopped him a round or two earlier. I cant see the rematch going any other way.

didnt see that at all mate. bellew was the one looking to be tiring more and hed only been getting more negative as the rounds passed. he maybe won the first but then lost everything else by increasing margins, i think on all the cards too. then the leg goes and boom, he comes out of his shell and the fights in his favour. it so perfectly corresponded with the injury.

haye is clearly the better of the two when at their best, but thing is, can haye fight at a decent level these days with his body holding up? im not so sure. think he might need blowout fights like de mori in order to win before his body falls apart.
