at least zab "thug" judah didnt go after the ref this time!!jeej wrote:Zab claimed in the post-fight interview that he is not a dirty fighter and didn't mean to hit PBF low, but I gotta say at the time I was pretty disgusted. If he hit any lower it would have been a knee-capping.
Still Roger shouldn't have run in the ring like that - those scenes were pretty bad.
Ha ha, yeah, I think they kept the stools chained to the ring posts!shoutout2u wrote:at least zab "thug" judah didnt go after the ref this time!!jeej wrote:Zab claimed in the post-fight interview that he is not a dirty fighter and didn't mean to hit PBF low, but I gotta say at the time I was pretty disgusted. Haven't looked at the rules but shouldn't Mayweather have been DQ'd after his cornerman/uncle stormed the ring?
Case of Roger forgetting he's retired. Sounded a bit like Judah tried to do a bit of a 'Tyson' (minus the ear biting) and punked it a bit.
Still, an interesting result, because for all the hype, Mayweather couldn't stop him. He's not banging hard at the higher weight. I mean, he hit Gatti with loads of clean shots and couldn't drop him.
Come on... let's have Mayweather v Hatton. It's a great fight and while Floyd's favourite I've got a feeling that Hatton could push him very very close.

First off, I did think for a sec that a cornerman entering the ring during the round was a DQ situation, but after they cleared the ring they announced there would be a 5 min break.
As for PBF not being able to stop Zab. Well I watched the fight and it really didn't look like he was trying to stop him. He was cruising for the decision. Plus that fracas in round 10 sort of put things on ice a bit.

I always thought that if the corner entered the ring it is an automatic DQ, I think in the next few days we will be hearing a lot more about this.
But at the end of the day Mayweather showed after the first few rounds that he is a true P4P fighter and had all the answers to Judah who was easily as fast as Mayweather.

Mmmm. I just really want to see Mayweather v Hatton.
I think Ricky will bring enough heat to really push Mayweather. It's a bit like Duran v Leonard I... but like someone said, Floyd looked like he was cruising to victory, but with Hatton he just won't be able to do that and I think their styles will bring out the best in both of them and it will be an amazing fight.
Who knows, Mayweather, forced to fight for his win and to keep his perfect record, could prove himself to be a real great fighter.
I was talking to Boxing News editor Claude Abrams the other day, who went to watch him training six weeks before the Judah fight and he said he was phenomenal 'I've never seen a training session like it' were his words, but he said that Mayweather doesn't put it all out there when he fights, but one day he will, and I think Hatton's the kind of uncompromising fighter, who, like Duran, is a bit more than just a slugger, who will force him to show everything he's made of.

Good point but Gatti did get droppedDIRT SUGAR wrote: Still, an interesting result, because for all the hype, Mayweather couldn't stop him. He's not banging hard at the higher weight. I mean, he hit Gatti with loads of clean shots and couldn't drop him.

Mayweather has hardly ever relied on ko'ing his opponent. Like Cus Damato once said 'a fighters KO punch can be the fighters worst enemy' or something like that, Floyd relies on landing withoiut getting hit and it may easier against Hatton than it was against tricky southpaws like Judah or Corley.
PS WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD THE FIGHT, I CANT USE THE TORRENTS SITE
Also remember Floyd virtually fought some of his fights with 1 hand. He had hand issues a few years back, and he basically wears pads under the tape and he uses puffier gloves to protect his hand. If you're questioning his power at higher weights, look at his power at every weight. He's had 4 KO's his entire career outside of the TKO/Stoppage KO's. He has never had great power at any level, and he's been extremely succesful. Power is only part of boxing. Floyd doesn't have great power, but he has enough to suffice. He isn't a guy who goes for a KO when he has a guy hurt. He hardly ever jumps at someone when a KO seems a possibility, and has shown he is more than capable of winning by decision vs anyone.DIRT SUGAR wrote:Haven't looked at the rules but shouldn't Mayweather have been DQ'd after his cornerman/uncle stormed the ring?

i thought mayweather was going to be dq but glad he wasnt because he was winning the fight easily. barrea got dq against junior jones when his corner entered the ring just before the end of round 5, although i think they were pulling him out anyways because he was being pounded.
it looked as if we were going to have a repeat of bowe-golota riot but the police did a good job in cooling it off quickly before anyone else joined in.

If they do rule a DQ, Boxing will do itself no favors. Where was Floyd during the whole melee? In the corner to start, and then you don't see him anywhere in the fight. You're going to even contemplate DQing Floyd for doing what he was supposed to? Ban, fine, suspend Roger in Vegas or anywhere else, but to penalize Floyd for something he didn't even get involved in would be foolish. Boxing doesn't need another black mark.boxerrob2005 wrote:i thought mayweather was going to be dq but glad he wasnt because he was winning the fight easily. barrea got dq against junior jones when his corner entered the ring just before the end of round 5, although i think they were pulling him out anyways because he was being pounded.

floyd shouldnt be penalised because his uncle let him down with his display, but zab shouldnt be choked by someone when hes trying to do his job. Obviously it wasnt commendable what zab did by any means but rules are rules, and if the fight was ordered to happen again because of what happened i think that would be respectable. Anyone rememer the hatton/darkie smith incident?

Floyd's extreme fitness won it. He kept pressing forward but it was useless unless he threw a double jab. It worked well against Mitchell but Judah posed different questions. Uncle Roger kept prompting him to pressure forward between rounds but it was getting like watching a car wreck until Judah gassed - about round 5 or so, and Mayweather took over from there. Uncle Roger getting ejected wasn't the worst of hitches.

let there be no doubt that PBF is a bit special.....but whats he going to be like when a fighter (hatton) pressures him for 12 rounds?..lirva33 wrote:wow floyd lost the first 2 and was shaken in the fourth and then went on to dominate. Maybe he really really is something special and can adapt and beat any style at all.
if hatton v PBF isn't made for aug/sept then we all might aswell go home

like Castillo did? Floyd adapted and found a way to win. He always does. It's what he does and I'm afraid Hatton will find that out (If he ever signs to fight Floyd).pasty_spud wrote:let there be no doubt that PBF is a bit special.....but whats he going to be like when a fighter (hatton) pressures him for 12 rounds?..lirva33 wrote:wow floyd lost the first 2 and was shaken in the fourth and then went on to dominate. It would have been if the referee hadn't called a time out. The ref called a time out for the low blow, so they technically they weren't fighting.... this is when Roger Mayweather jumped into the ring.pasty_spud wrote:thats what i was gonna say......
if PBF's corner enter the ring during a round isn't that a DQ for PBF?

castillo stood off a lot.lirva33 wrote:glad you are honest.pasty_spud wrote:or if floyd ever signs the fight!
to be honest i've never seen the castillo fight so can't comment
id try to find the two of them if i was you though.
when castillo stepped in and upped it, he was winning the rds.
castillo doesn't bring it with the intensity that hatton does.

Castillo got his ass handed to him when he "upped it" once Floyd adapted, which he seems to be able to do against any fighter. He doesn't bullrush head first like Hatton does but he puts on pressure like Hatton and Floyd knows what to do against guys like that.hitman_hatton1 wrote:castillo stood off a lot.lirva33 wrote:glad you are honest.pasty_spud wrote:or if floyd ever signs the fight!

In fact, Castillo is better than Hatton in my opinion. His punches are shorter and his technique is better.
