Starting to warm to Wilder
Honestly lads, think I'm warming to the lad from Alabama think he is really pushing his media profile (might be because he has a fight coming up) but regardless liking the spiteful nature coming out of him!
Plus, I think he is a LIVE player when he fights Joshua he won't gas he weighed in 222lb against Washington and has crazy power, what do you lads make of him recently?

Re: Starting to warm to Wilder
Not for me - avoids punchers, will get sparked once he steps up, and he knows it
Sad really, he holds the best belt on the planet

He's good value, but I doubt he'd last more than a couple of rounds against Joshua. He has zero defense.

We have seen Wilder vs Molina and we have seen AJ vs Molina, it's like a different league.

Just wait until he fights a 2nd guy ranked in the Top 10! Then you'll REALLY have something to be excited about.

There was another guy actually, who also proved Jun Long Zhang is most likely better as Wilder.

Re: Starting to warm to Wilder
I never really paid much attention to Wilder, I'll cheer for him now just because of the idiotic rants of the posters finding their way to this thread. He's like Mayweather on the CS. Probably more Wilder threads than the rest combined.
Re: Starting to warm to Wilder
I've never had anything against Wilder as a bloke, I think he comes across well in interviews and such.
But I just don't particularly rate him as a fighter, good power, pretty quick and seems to has decent cardio. But he doesn't set his shots up very well, has very little variety to his attacks and his defence is poor.
Although he has shown a few small signs of improvement in the last couple years, his style is taylor made for AJ.
AJ had a little bit of trouble with Takam as he was a small target, who dipped and made himself appear even smaller. Unlike Wilder who will be upright, chin in the air, throwing haymakers.

Re: Starting to warm to Wilder
I’ve always been a huge fan of Wilder.
He’s a hard hitting vulnerable HW.
Showed balls by agreeing to go to Russia.
Fights for his sick daughter.
What’s not to like. Speaks well.
Good luck to him. AJ-Wilder could be a super-fight by next Summer. Both guys you want to root for.

Re: Starting to warm to Wilder
Loves a windmill, fights people that are way below who he should be fighting. But we will get to see if he can do a better job against stiverne who hasn't fought for 2yrs and then v molina.
He is suited to AJ as he will right in front of him and AJ has the better defence. If AJ can land a couple straight down the middle then wilder will be on his buttocks.
Plus i hate that boooommmmmbbbbb squad thing he does

Re: Starting to warm to Wilder
I think he will blow Joshua away mate, joshua throws punches in bunches to get people out of there but Wilder only needs one shot and if you get back up he puts it back in you and joshua has been buzzed a few times and gasses out. Im not saying im right its all opinion based but thats what i see. If Joshua doesnt think the same why isnt he reacting to wilder? Joshua hasnt faced a puncher yet either rememberTwinkle Toes wrote: ↑02 Nov 2017, 19:15 He's good value, but I doubt he'd last more than a couple of rounds against Joshua. He has zero defense.

Re: Starting to warm to Wilder
Its true mate, like LL said they arnt the finished article yet and they both have to learn on the job, wilder just lets his hands go and usually the fight ends were as joshua takes more time to get them out of there with more effort too. If this fight happens i see wilder k.o round 4 or 5littlepug wrote: ↑03 Nov 2017, 10:21must admit I'm starting to think along those lines alsothechump wrote: ↑03 Nov 2017, 10:18I think he will blow Joshua away mate, joshua throws punches in bunches to get people out of there but Wilder only needs one shot and if you get back up he puts it back in you and joshua has been buzzed a few times and gasses out. Re: Starting to warm to Wilder
That shot that put Joshua down would have done the same and more to any fighter in the sport right now. He is also a street ahead of any of Wilders opponents.thechump wrote: ↑03 Nov 2017, 11:01Not at the tail end of his career he wasntsamwbr wrote: ↑03 Nov 2017, 11:00Klitschko was a big puncher.thechump wrote: ↑03 Nov 2017, 10:18

In a world of fake humility, I appreciate WIlder for the fact that he just is what he is, he says some nasty stuff, he adds a bit of beef - he's a bit of a knob.
I can't handle the current competition in the UK amongst celebrity and sporting types to be the nicest, most earnest, most humble person on the planet. It just doesn't wash with me, it's too tacky, too fake.

Re: Starting to warm to Wilder
Cant argue with u on any pf your pounts mate i just think styles make fights and wilder wouldnt of ket joshua recover, just sayin
Re: Starting to warm to Wilder
I'm starting to really dislike him.
His attitude to Hearn's offer for the Whyte fight is just baffling. It's over twice what he normally gets and he should see it as a very easy fight.
Win then the Joshua fight is much bigger which means he would get more money for that.
He still seems hesitant about the Joshua fight. Only this week he was talking about wanting to fight Breazeale after their dust up in a hotel earlier in the year.
The guy will be 39-0 this weekend and his resume is poor. Though it is a shame that Pedvetkin fight didn't happen. The "much improved" form of the Russian would have asked questions.
I do think Showtime will force the Joshua fight though. They weren't going to broadcast the Stiverne rematch originally because its a crap fight.
That's why Stivenre was initially on the undercard with Wilder v Ortiz.
