A prime Evander Holyfield against a prime Joe Frazier.
What advantages would Evander have over Joe?
What advantages would Frazier have over Holyfield?
What do you see happening in this fight?
Who would win? Why?
Please explain.

Perhaps Holyfield MD... maybe Frazier MD. Whoever won, it would probably be the greatest heavyweight fight ever.

Best possible heavyweight fight.
Re: Evander Holyfield?
What an absolute war this would be!
I'd favor Holyfield to win it ever so slightly because I think his ability to box at range, and his height advantage would play a big role. They're both great inside fighters, and I could see them trading shots on the inside numerous times in the contest (Joe wouldn't give him a choice except to trade on a lot of those occasions), but I think the moments where Holyfield is able to get distance and use his jab and boxing skill would give him the edge on the cards.
It'd be a marvelous fight though.

I'd favor Joe just as slightly because he'd be right On Holy and I think at his best had a slightly better work rate, cardio and would get the judges attention.
But both of these guys would never fight again after this fight. Unless their corner's pulled one of them out early. Cuz neither of them are going to want out....no matter what was going on in that ring.
And the next fight would break out between one of the Principal fighters, and whatever corner man made such a call.

This would've been one of the most brutal fights in boxing history. Two great warriors that belong in the top 10 heavyweight all time rankings as well as top 50 pound per pound all time boxing greats.
I would pick the Smokin' Joe that fought at FOTC to win against The Real Deal by late stoppage around the 14th round in a brutal slugfest, probably in the greatest fight ever.

Great fight
I’d take Frazier on points. Holyfield was great, but he’s truly met his match in terms of guts with Frazier.
As tough as they both are, I think Frazier has the edge in power and his heavy punches and body shots take there toll on Holyfield a bit more than Holyfield can give to deter frazier

At times, the great Evander Holyfield seemed gassed in the middle of a fight. But, his heart, will and determination keeps him in there, and all of the sudden, he used to get a second wind out of nowhere. While Smokin' Joe was like a car warming up in the first minutes and then while he started smoking there was no letting up. He was too relentless. Both would have had their moment in the fight, and their faces would have been looking like a total mess.Ossyrules wrote: ↑04 Nov 2017, 15:23 Great fight

The Holyfield who fought Tyson was too big and strong for Frazier.. Holyfield weighed a rock-solid 218 cuz he didn't want to be bullied... Holy built himself up with superior nutrition and strength training for his Mike fights -- his 2 best peak career fights.. A super lean, 217-pound, ripped to shreds George Foreman manhandled Frazier... That showed the value in getting strong and lean for a little guy like Frazier -- or even Tyson.
