He will fight him but it won't be a career high payday if he fights him in February, but it will be for Wilder if he fights Whyte in February.

Joshua will probably fight Wilder next summer when they can get a 90,000 gate at Wembley. How the ppv shapes up largely depends on what Wilder does in the meantime. Joshua too to a much lesser extent. Hearn sees the Wilder fight as potentially huge. He won't play this card for less than it's full value. Wilder is the mosr dangerous opponent out there. The reward has to match the risk or it's poor business.

Don't forget Joshua isn't 9 years into his career, 3 years into his reign as a champion, and still looking for his first elite level fight. Joshua has proved himself and has no need to rush. Don't forget at this stage of Wilder's career Shelley Finkel was telling people Wilder had no need to rush into a unification with Klitschko, that he would take his time and the big fights would come.
