Any young boxer who wants to know how to be a good professional just needs to watch some of Lynes's fights. He was one of the best all round boxers I've ever seen in the flesh. First class.

Duno, at 39 he can't really do much now can he belts wise. Probably just still enjoys it?

Its a bit of a Mickey Mouse belt but Lynes is quite capable of winning It and might secure a nice payday off it

Saw him at York Hall boxing some importee 10 years ago and thought he looked old and past it then but on checking see that he will have only been 29! Wasn't he well beaten by Skeete? Seems an ill advised return.

What a great jab Colin had in his day. He could move all night as well.

Lynes was excellent at his peak. Great jab and game as a pebble. Watched him beat my mate Kev Bennett down London years ago - wow that feels like a lifetime ago now so fair play to him.

He put Skeete down I remember. Then done very little after that coasting to defeat.

Even with the age gap, seems a big jump in class, if lynes has anything left could be a shock for the youngster :box:

Am I imagining it or was this originally for an IBO belt and is now WBC?

I originally read it as IBO too! I guessed it had something to do with Lynes being their ex world champ.
Who know what he has left but while his opponent is unbeaten he still hasn't fought anyone. Lynes while obviously past his best is a consummate professional, probably has forgotten more than this kid will ever know and could well roll back the years and get a win out of this.

Sure it was originally for an IBO intercontinental or continental.
Meh, whatever, he always seemed like a nice guy, good luck to him.

Being 39 shouldn't hurt Lynes that much.

He's all about technique, textbook boxing, that jab ! He doesn't have much explosiveness or speed to lose.
A sort of Teddy Sherringham of boxing.

He is only kid of 23yrs old though. He isn't doing to bad at the moment, WBC youth champion (whatever that is) & now WBC silver international champion(whatever one of them is).

Hopefully he can develop into something decent so pompey has someone to follow again. Been too long since the days of Tony oakey.

ya he could be good for sure, but certainly a guy with that kind of a stoppage record koing lynes isnnt a good sign for cl. who knows though, maybe coming into some power now is this kid.
