Ward defends his British Super Bantamweight title against Davis on the Smith/Williams 2 card this Saturday, Ward's 1st defence since winning a TD over Dickens, I had him just ahead at the time but Jazza looked to be coming on after a slow start, that was the 1st time i'd seen Ward and he's a classy boxer, not a puncher but good foot movement and some classy shots, Davis's only loss was the KO defeat to Gamal, I think this fight will be a lot more even than the Gamal fight
Davis hasn't any KO's on his record and Ward only 2 so this has distance written all over it, should be a nice blend of styles, the skills of Ward and workrate of Davis, just hope its not a stinker
Ward wins this on points for me, haven't seen a lot of either guy but Ward does seem the classier boxer

Re: Thomas Patrick Ward vs Sean Davis
Was a pleasant surprise when ward beat dickens as I thought it looked a big step up form the mostly journeymen he had been beating and, like you say, not many KO's on his record so it doesn't stand out. He boxed really sharp against Dickens and I thought he was fairly comfortable until the TD.
Think he'll win this one as well, maybe a 8-4, 7-5 type of fight as should win plenty of rounds if he boxes as well as the dickens fight.

Re: Thomas Patrick Ward vs Sean Davis
Excellent display of footwork and counter punching from Ward, had him winning 119-110, he was in total control throughout and stayed switched on for the whole 12 rounds, Davis deserves credit he never stopped coming forward and trying to find something to get a grip of the fight, he throws his punches wide though and it allowed Ward to counter beautifully and slip out of harms way, really clever performance from Ward, he's not a puncher but didn't get flustered by the aggression of Davis, whenever Davis looked like he was starting to maybe find the target, Ward was regain control in the following round
Sterling effort from Davis but Ward too sharp and technical for him
