You know what I can see? Another year of Joshua, Wilder and Parker fighting those dangerous TBAs. Joshua and Parker want the big fights, but you know how it is.

Suggestion in the article that Hearn wants an 80-20 split in Joshua's favour.

They may both be heavyweight champions but that seems fair. Joshua is doing 90k at Wembley. Parker getting 20% of that deal is going to utterly dwarf anything else he can possibly get. What was the attendance for that farce against Hughie? How many YouTube buys did it do?

doesn't a mandatory get 25% of the purse?

i'm saying a mandatory is entitled to 25%. Parker as a fellow champion has to get at least a 30% piece of this fight imo...

I do have to agree. A unification deserves a minimum 30%

I'd have to come back to my answer, just a year ago, AJ seems unbeateble, but in AJ's last fight he seemed to gas quite fast actually. He's way more muscled as he used to be last year and if that line continues he might very well lose this battle.

you have to keep perspective though. that wasnt a great show by ajs standards but dropping takam, opening a nasty cut, and winning 8 of 9 rounds was far better than what parker managed against the same opponent and he hasnt looked any better since

parkers way smaller, and on world level hes sloppy, open, his power isnt a factor at top level, hes upright and stiff legged. doesnt look very fresh late on himself. hes got some hand speed but thats about it vs aj. just dont see how he wins bar some freak result

I'm struggling to see much evidence of him gassing. He threw 40 punches in round nine - the last round to go the distance. That was more than rounds one and three and only three less than the second. He'd also built up a massive lead on the cards and had no need to go hell for leather but his output was still fine and he wasn't getting caught much.

When I saw AJ vs Breazeale I saw no difference between round 2 and round 7 whatsoever, when I saw AJ vs Klitschko and Takam I did see a difference, and AJ wasn't going for a full blow any more. He stayed patient from start till end.
When I watched any Tyson Fury fight, he's not tired in the first round and neither in the last, Wilder same thing, no difference between the first and the last round. AJ does become tired, somehow he is much much much better in the early rounds.
That's the feeling I got. AJ got the fastest reactions and the best skills and such, somehow he does get tired.

35% is fair. No way should a unification be 80/20.

ya thinks thats an okay split. reality is that even though ajs a far bigger draw hes gonna have to be flexible if he wants notable opponents, because those guys prob arent gonna take 20 percent kind of stuff

I used to say the same things during the hey day of Don King. And now he is old and past it, I kinda miss those days. Higgie is a character alright, and boxing is a lot more fun with guys like them. I get sick of all the serious "humble" PR manufactured crap. Fly off the handle nutters like Higgie are a breath of fresh air. I will enjoy the ride until he kills a hooker in his hotel room and OD on coke afterwards
