Is Rockhold even elite, comes across as a bit of a fancy surfer boy more interested in modelling and popstar girlfriends. :maybe:
You're asking the wrong guy. All rankings, historical and present are based on whom he likes.
Well Rockhold got knocked senseless by a bloke who isn't deemed anything more than a journeyman so he can't be that good.
He also submitted that same guy embarrassingly. GSP got knocked out by Matt Serra, Cro Cop got knocked out by Gonzaga, Reem got knocked out by Big Foot etc upsets happen in combat sports and one punch from an inferior fighter can change a fight.
Rockhold has wins over Jacare, Weidman and Machida but there was something sweet about watching Bisping knock him out and his meltdown afterwards.

Cruz out with a broken arm.

Edgar is out vs Holloway, Aldo wants to step in for a rematch.

In a perfect world I'd rather see Ortega step in. That would make Cub's head explode so give cub his lifetime achievement title shot and let also win a nontitle fight before a rematch.

I did read that Edgar's injury would only push the fight back 6 weeks, surely the best option is to have the fight 6 weeks later. The winner of Aldo vs Lamas gets the next shot.

I'm also looking forward to seeing if Aldo's boxing has progressed since he started working with Garcia.

Still no 219 headline announcement yet. I see Dominick Cruz is injured.

Just looked on UFCs site and it says tickets are on sale at the end of next week so an announcement has to be imminent.

Not many Heavyweights in it, but it should be entertaining. I think Bader will win it.

Sounds like they're working hard to get Conor in that spot.

Hard to imagine it getting significantly better at this stage of his career. Not that it was ever bad.

Me thinks Conor's primary intention in jumping into the cage was to start something with Goddard.

Conner McGregor should be banned for what he did,if i was the bellator employee that connor slapped id be suing him. Who does he think he is? You cant go to these mma events and think you can do what you want. Ban him for 2 years and the employee sue him, that might bring this arrogant pr1ck back down to earth

Ban their biggest earner for hitting an employee of a rival company? You've gotta be joking. He might have to shell out some $$$ though.

I have to say I feel fornicating stupid for defending Silva by saying he deserves the benefit of the doubt after the injury he was coming off. But with a second test positive it's likely means he cheated during most of his career. As a fan I'm very disappointed, but I had stated that I believed that Aldo and DJ had probably surpassed him regardless of a test. GSP coming back definitely helped his legacy even if it was against a guy who isn't in the top 5 in the weight class it was still a very solid win and excellent tune up fight. I'm still not sure what is a winnable big fight for GSP other than McGregor.

I feel that Aldo beat the better comp(ie Edgar is a better win than anyone of GOATs has on their resume) but not the bigger names than GSP but the loss to Halloway hurts his standing while GSP has definitely cemented a spot at #1 for now with a win over Bisping. If Johnson was to move up and take out TJ he has to be number 1 especially if he can back it up with a win over Cruz or Cody. With the talent at MW, I don't see GSP successfully defending if he attempts to do so but he's 36 and over his best weight so it really doesn't matter or hurt him. Until GSPs comeback I would still say that him and Aldo were neck and neck, both had an embarrassing loss and both had a loss against a solid champion.

It's all a bit ridiculous though, we are talking the GOAT of a sport that isn't even 30 years old and it's only been an elite sport for less than 20 years. Guys and girls(especially) keep getting more and more well rounded. Right now it's hard to imagine fighters being more well rounded than GSP, Aldo and DJ whom all have very solid technical striking and insane grappling skills but I'm sure in another 20 years it'll be at a level where guys who are fringe contenders are just as well rounded as the guys we marvel at now.

McGregor could face a small ban and a fine from the commission if he pushed Goddard but it won't effect him at all because he doesn't have a fight scheduled and there's been no return date even seriously talked about.
