Takam v Stiverne ... who wins?

Post by daznvern »

Everyone on about Joshua struggling to take Takam out early and Wilder with his quick fire workover of Stiverne.

But if Takam and Stiverne fought today who would win.

Id say Joshua had the hardest opponent and think both Joshua and Takam who blow Stiverne aside also in quick fire time.

Takam is better than Stiverne

Add into the mix that Takam was at least in shape and it magnifies that difference

This isn’t a dis on wilder.

I think Stiverne was damaged goods after the first Wilder beating. He took a lot of damage to the head. He is done imo. Takam or any HW gatekeeper would beat Stiverne easily.

Stiverne has a granite head. Wilder destroyed him but it doesn't mean everybody could do the same.
Takam is not a puncher.

Stiverne has an egg head, anybody with even a tiny bit of a punch would beat him. I think everybody with a KO rate above 80 % within the boxrec top 100 as well as the top 50 cruiserweight would KO him.

Yeah Dustin Nichols had a great win streak going before Wilder beat him.

wilder did seriously fornicate up stiverne though. first fight he probably hurt him like 5-6 times and going the distance just meant more punishment. that was a seriously unhealthy beating and didnt stiverne stay in the hospital a bit? imo the corner shouldve thought about pulling stiverne out.

btw one thing i like about wilder is that he keeps that power late. he can bomb you out in 1 round or 10 rounds

Is this a serious question?

Takam would destroy the 2017 version of Stiverne. Anybody worthy of a top 20 rating would beat Stiverne and I'm not just saying that because of the way he just lost to Wilder.

He had one fight since losing to Wilder the first time three years ago. That was two years ago with journeyman Derric Rossy who floored Stiverne and lost on decision.

The WBC should hang their fukcing heads in shame but I don't think they understand the concept.

Takam by KO or TKO, at worst to take the fight by unanimous decision.
If the fight was being made now, Takam's stock is on a high while Stiverne is at an all time low.

A one sided beating at the hands of Wilder would shake anyone's confidence, the fact he was the only man to take him 12 rounds previously, should all but finish him mentally unless he gets a few tune up fights back in him first.
Takam, on short notice and as the heavy underdog took more then a few good shots and showed everyone he can stay into the later rounds against one of the best in the division .

They are exactly the same afterwards, many of them even improve big time, Stiverne simply has always been a massive bum, getting worse and worse and worse.

Takam has some credibility to work with and will likely get offers at some point, Stiverne probably won't.

Stiverne won Arreola who won Joey Abell and prime Eric Molina.
I remember Stiverne's amateur fights. He is a really high level boxer. In recent years, he was unprepared, lazy. He applied stupid tactics in fights.
But he is underrated as skilled fighter. Deontay Wilder has the hardest punch in division now. Stiverne took hellish punches and he took so much during the previous fight. Almost everybody gets knocked out taking these punches. I wonder how he survived after their previous meeting.

I'd favor Takam confidently. Stiverne is getting older now, and never comes into the ring in tip top shape. Takam is always prepared to give his best.
