Dillian Whyte now officially ranked No.1 by WBC
Dillian Whyte (22-1, 16 KOs) has officially been made the #1 ranked contender in the World Boxing Council’s heavyweight rankings. It’s a move that was expected due to Whyte’s recent win over fringe contender Robert Helenius last month on October 28 in Cardiff, Wales.
The way that Whyte has looked in his last 5 fights, I see him more as a bottom 15 guy than a No.1 contender.
Hearn needs to sweeten the pot by throwing in an extra $3 million to the existing $4 million to round it out to $7 million. It’s doable if Whyte is on board with getting a smaller payday for the fight. If Whyte believes in himself, then he should go for the deal, because if he wins, then he’s the new WBC heavyweight champion. Whyte can use the WBC title as leverage to get a bigger cash deal against Joshua.
Here are the WBC’s NEW top 15 rankings:
1. Dillian Whyte
2. Dominic Breazeale
3. Luis Ortiz
4. Andy Ruiz
5. Mariusz Wach
6. Tony Bellew
7. Johann Duhaupas
8. Charles Martin
9. Oscar Rivas
10. Agit Kabayel
11. Carlos Takam
12. Lucas Browne
13. Dereck Chisora
14. Adam Kownacki
15. Bermane Stiverne

It's not doable at all, it's ridiculous.
Re: Dillian Whyte now officially ranked No.1 by WBC
3 million was a big offer, second offer of 4 is really big. To want 7, that’s huge money I’m not sure that type of money is there.
Whyte probably isn’t the best guy in that 15, but in fairness other than Ortiz, who should be excluded, nobody is significantly better than him they are all much in a muchness.
Whyte did say he’d fight Bellew for free though, so I guess you have to ask why not take a small pay day to get the title

I agree with that, just think the fight with Parker for a vacant title was too close to not do it againRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 Nov 2017, 07:26He hasn't fought since, although I thought he did enough to beat Parker, he shouldn't be ranked so highly without having fought.

It's the value of having a quality promoter. How many promoters could have got Whyte that spot?
Re: Dillian Whyte now officially ranked No.1 by WBC
Looking at those rankings it makes you realise in reality the heavyweight division is pretty crap! Bellew no.6??
Even the current crop of belt holders are nowhere near the levels of the Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield era.

Some very average heavies in that list.
Re: Dillian Whyte now officially ranked No.1 by WBC
I predict that if he doesn’t lose weight, get in shape and work on improvement, that he will end up being wiped out like Stiverne.
But if Whyte is so highly ranked, you’d think this might encourage complacency. If a title shot and heavyweight payday is only a matter of time.

The wba rankings are much worse. BJ Flores is in there

If Whyte is made mandatory then he can wait and he will get his shot. It will be up to Hearn to pressure the WBC to enforce the mandatory in 6-9 months time, get in the media banging the drum about how Wilder has only faced one mandatory since winning a vacant title etc. If it goes to purse bids I expect Wilder can kiss $4million goodbye as only a clown would bid to pay him that much.

I thought it was ridiculous wyhte being number 1 then looked at the rest of the top ten! ![[icon_e_sad.gif] :verysad:](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)

His problem is Wilder just took care of his mandatory so there could be a long wait until it’s next up
Hearn would do a lot worse than get Martin back over for another payday! I’m not talking about quality of fight etc, but it’ll preserve Whyte’s ranking nicely.
As coco said, amazing what having a top promoter can do for you!

Hearn paid Martin £6m or so to come over to UK to defend against AJ.. Obviously that was before Brexit.. But £6m today is still around $8mlillywhite14 wrote: ↑11 Nov 2017, 10:34 His problem is Wilder just took care of his mandatory so there could be a long wait until it’s next up

Its the opposite really.....Wilder has missed him chance at turning a Whyte fight into a lucrative payday, he could have struck a deal with Hearn and had it inked. But he was greedy and priced himself out.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 Nov 2017, 06:57
Hearn needs to sweeten the pot by throwing in an extra $3 million to the existing $4 million to round it out to $7 million.
Now Whyte is the mandatory and Hearn won't have to dip anywhere near as deep in his pockets.
Smart business move by Matchroom getting Whyte to No.1 with the WBC.....if anyone in Wilder's camp had a brain they would have seen this coming and he should have taken the 4 million off Hearn to make the Whyte fight before Dillian was made his mandatory. But its crystal clear that those around Wilder are muppets.

Knowing the WBC, they are not going to order the mandatory anytime soon.. Plus, Wilder has only just fought his first mandatory.. Just because he's in the number 1 spot, doesn't make him the mandatory challenger.. I have a feeling WBC will order Whyte vs. Breazeale as a final eliminator.. Which would be a very good fight.. IMO Whyte never stops Breazeale.lurkyshaka wrote: ↑11 Nov 2017, 12:41Its the opposite really.....Wilder has missed him chance at turning a Whyte fight into a lucrative payday, he could have struck a deal with Hearn and had it inked. Remember that Whyte has Hearn's backing.....Wilder has only fought 1 mandatory since becoming their title holder.....he'll probably have to fight Whyte within 9 months.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 Nov 2017, 13:10Knowing the WBC, they are not going to order the mandatory anytime soon.. I agree Whyte/Breazeale is a decent fight, but not sure that either need to take the risk.
Re: Dillian Whyte now officially ranked No.1 by WBC
Smart move by Eddie , he now saves money on the fight and gets to keeep Wilder away from AJ for a little bit longer, , I think Eddie is banking on Whyte besting Wilder ,and AJ beating Whyte
Re: Dillian Whyte now officially ranked No.1 by WBC
Wilder will KO Whyte
