Big 4 Heavies fight purses - YOUR SAY

Post by Crease »

So if the big fights were in negotiation - and you had the FINAL say on the purse splits.

And here are the fights:

Joshua vs Wilder

Joshua vs Parker

Joshua vs Fury

Wilder vs Fury

Wilder vs Parker

Parker vs Fury

Some of these are obviously dependent on location, (Parker draws a decent crowd in New Zealand but as shown at the Hughie fight gets very few people interested in the UK.)

Joshua blows the lot out of the water and obviously would need a massive percentage for UK based fights.

I'd make them all 10% each way and the winner gets the rest.

why would wilder be 70-30 for parker unification? is he that much more of a draw? if aj-parker is 70-30 no way wilder-parker is

Wilder, Parker and (why is he included?) Fury would be 50-50 in any which order

Joshua is the big draw and generates the money but Wilder and Parker are on his 'want' list as the belts they hold add value so 60-40 in Joshuas favour should make everyone involved happy.

For Fury to be a worthwhile opponent for Joshua he will need to pick up a belt or settle for a smallish percentage, Joshua is filling the largest venues we have and selling decent PPVs against whomever from this point on. Fury just doesn't add value.

I must say with that that Wilder can easely gain 25% by beating Takam, Whyte, Andy Ruiz Jr, Povetkin, Miller, Jun Long Zhang, Breazeale, Ortiz, or even new talents, like Dubois.

Fury doesn't add value? Are you sure? The PPV's would be off the scale does he hell need to win a belt first. 60-40
would be about right tho.

id expect aj-fury to be massive and beyond what aj does for pretty much anyone else, which are already great numbers. fury alone isnt nearly the draw aj is but i think if you pair them he brings value and it would explode.aj still should get the greater amount but i think fury brings more than parker and wilder even though hes a slob who would get steamrolled.

Don't think any of those guys should be settling for below 30%. 3 of them hold titles and Fury is a big name.

They will all push for as much as they can get obviously. But holding out for more than 60/40, (which would only really happen in AJ's case) is trying to undermine your opponent and could be accused of ducking. Taking a 60% cut in a unification is more than fair regardless of your popularity IMO

At least try to disguise the fact that you are an obvious hater and troll mate. That's what the good trolls do.

5% for wilder

I’m not a fan but the wbc champ isn’t fighting anyone for 5%

And beat 4 fight novice Dubois who looks red raw, a 19yo kid whose only fought small men so far, gives wilder no credibility. If wilder made a Dubois fight he should be hounded out of boxing

But KO1 a retired old small fat doping using guy does give him credibility? Sorry, but you'll have to at least some kind of proof yourself before you can ask any money from a champion at all. I'm not even saying he'll lose against Povetkin for example any more, since Povetkin clearly is a lot worse compared to what he used to be. But really, if you're still fighting E level guys like Stiverne, who would be beaten by well over a 100 guys, then what the hell makes you think he deserves a top level fight? He could chose for 4 mil from Whyte, but no, he chose 1,5 mil from a bum. That's oké, but then don't ask for a titlefight and especially not demanding more as 5% of the cash.

Yeah I’m sure. He couldn’t fill an arena at home for a Wlad fight. He isn’t a draw.
Winning a belt first simply makes him more attractive to Joshua as having something Joshua wants. I’m not a massive AJ fan but he is in the driving seat, has no shortage of options and will get paid gargantuan sums against literally anybody.
Joshua v Wilder or Parker will fill any stadium in the U.K.
Would Fury v either do the same? Would it fill an Arena?

I said earlier a lot of this has to do with where the fight happens, but realistically, if they happened in the UK, these would be the sort of locations that would be realistic:

Joshua vs Wilder: Wembley Stadium.

Joshua vs Parker: Wembley Stadium.

Joshua vs Fury: Wembley Stadium.

Wilder vs Fury: Wembley Arena.

Wilder vs Parker: I'll discount this given it's an American fighter vs a New Zealander.

Parker vs Fury: Copperbox.

I think that illustrates something about the respective draw of those involved.
