Miller vs Wach

Post by asdfjkl »

I'm really interested in this fight, I see it as the battle of the chins. Neither of them has ever been knocked out as far as I know. I can't even remember a knock down, not even against Klitschko, has either of them?

the problem of Wach after his loss vs Klitchko is that when he feels power of opponent, he just stops to throw punches
Mariusz got granite chin, but i can see Miller to KO him to the body (but it depend if this fight is a 10 or 12 rounder, as i remember it's 10 rounder so i don't expect Wach to be stopped)
i think Miller could outland Wach, similar kind of fight as Whyte vs Helenius
but Wach is a type of fighter that shows up better vs good opposition, so maybe he will be more agressive and do more than usual left jab.
i tried to search if Wach was ever down (whether on amateurs or pro) and it seems like he never been on the canvas

miller should really pound the body. i think wach will mainly be a punch bag and not really throw much. his biggest strengths are just size and his freak chin. dont think hell be able to keep up with millers steady attack.

Wach was already getting old when he faced Klitschko... He'll be 38 in December and he's too slow for Miller... At 34, a 37-year-old Wlad easily speared him with endless jabs and rights. At one point Wladimir attacked for almost the entire round and looked like he was going to take Wach out, but he let up for some reason... Maybe he didn't want to punch himself out or maybe hitting a really hard head so much you finally feel it in your hands and need some relief.. Wach looked much more dangerous a few years ago against Christian Hammer, Tye Fields, and Kevin McBride.. The Hammer KO was cataclysmic. He hasn't looked like a killer in a long time.

the best Wach was pre-Klitschko Wach that KO'ed Hammer and fought in USA training in Global Boxing Gym, since he trains in small town in Poland with his unexperienced friend-trainer ex-boxer Piotr Wilczewski he got stiff, slow, and never throws his right hand. Wach is that kind of person, slow and lazy, even in interviews always shows no interests and usually says ''i don't know, i don't care, we will see''

Mariusz spars with Chisora before this fight so i expect him to be prepared well, but i don't expect him to win

Miller's chin hasn't really been tested yet, he'll face much harder hitters than Gerald Washington but not this time out. I expect him to outwork Wach and win by decision or maybe even stoppage if he makes good use of the body attack.

Straight forward for miller. Probably on decision, slight chance each goes late but I don’t really see the stoppage

I just hope Wach doesn't get screwed, this is a potential fight where judges need to be very very high leveled.

Very high level judges in boxing? That would be a novelty. I don't see this going to the crooked judges (sorry for the redundancy) anyway. It should be a good one! I'm thinking the big baby wins it but anything can happen with two guys that big that hit so hard. The freakin bookies have the baby a 12-1 favorite. That sounds very excessive to me. Good odds to bet on Wach if you mess with booky betting.

How close to (or over) 300lbs will Miller be for this fight? Disgraceful for a professional sportsman...

I also consider this an important fight. I think Wach's win over Teper is better than Miller's win over Washington. Both fighters would be adequate contenders for a world title right now; but after fighting each other, the winner would be one of the very top contenders. Whoever wins it will be official forever, and can stand to lose multiple times and put multiple people over without ever totally losing his hype. So, with that said, I hope for the sake of the division that the younger Miller comes out the winner.

Wach is kind of a soft, slow puncher. Miller punches kind of hard and kind of fast. So I guess Miller might win this match.

I wouldn't worry about that. Wach would be doing well to win 2 rounds I figure. I expect Miller to control the bout. The only rounds he'll lose are rounds where he takes off, and I can see that happening considering Miller's weight.

Povetkin stopped Wach in the 12th, but I don't think he ever dropped Wach. The referee just decided Wach had been hit cleanly too much I suppose. I'm sure he would've lasted the distance if the referee hadn't stepped in. He's very tough.

He had a cut in his face, it was a bit like Vitali vs Lewis, there was nothing wrong with Vitali, except that his whole face would have been destroyed if he continued. I fully agree that next to the cut, not much was wrong with Wach at the time.

It's been a while since I watched the fight so I forgot about the cut.

No, he wasn't hurt at all against Povetkin. He had a big cut, but the cut was under his eye.

I don't think it's on US tv. Exciting big heavyweight fight and they don't even televise it.

Yes that’s crazy if it’s not. don’t quote me cos I’m just going off Twitter , I’m not sure they have started yet or come out. So hopefully they do show it on this sky sports channel.
