The arguing and yelling at the new guy was absurd.SpliffTannen wrote: ↑12 Nov 2017, 02:42 Just tries to manufacture controversy out of nothing. Stick a fork in him.
Re: Wow
It wasn't a great weekend for announcers. The HBO crew spent the whole night blowing Jacobs and tried selling fans on how great he looked against Arias. I'm sitting there thinking...Jacobs looks looks slow as hell right now and the punches that he does land, aren't doing much. He let that punk Arias finish the fight when there's no way Arias gets to round 6 against GGG or Canelo. Pathetic. Anything to sell a fighter to us.
Re: Wow
The new guy sucked ass too. The whole argument both of 'em were were having was quite stupid, but Teddy made an ass out of himself especially when he said Mike Reed should've been allowed to continue. Ramirez was beating the sh*t out of him.SaadOffTheDeck wrote: ↑12 Nov 2017, 02:44The arguing and yelling at the new guy was absurd.SpliffTannen wrote: ↑12 Nov 2017, 02:42 Just tries to manufacture controversy out of nothing. Re: Wow
I literally started creating this same thread and then decided not to give Teddy any more of my time. Last night was the worst commentary I have ever heard, EVER. And that includes anything. I could give a description of the next time I take a shyte whilst faking a "Kermit the Sean Connery with a Cajun vibe" accent and it wouldn't reach that level of terrible since I'd at least be talking about the action at hand. It's as if the talking heads planning this want to turn off as many viewers as possible. Pure bullshite.SaadOffTheDeck wrote: ↑12 Nov 2017, 02:27 I've always said atlas is the worst commentator in sports history, he reached a new level tonight.

I was on Atlas' side when he was saying Koelling should have showed more ambition, and that Beterbiev was allowed to keep it boring because he was winning. I usually hate the pudendum.

Nothing keeps already bored viewers glued to the screen like someone babble-screaming how boring the fight is and how neither guy is trying.TheGingerBomber wrote: ↑12 Nov 2017, 23:48 I was on Atlas' side when he was saying Koelling should have showed more ambition, and that Beterbiev was allowed to keep it boring because he was winning. Re: Wow
I've hated him the whole time, but now it's ridiculous that the network keeps him around. That kind of crap isn't going to draw new viewers. I stopped watching fnf for years because of him. Now that fights are too upper tier to ignore. Pretty amazing how far he's regressed when he started as the worst.punchoutsb wrote: ↑12 Nov 2017, 23:45I literally started creating this same thread and then decided not to give Teddy any more of my time. I was on the other guys side. Koelling wasn't completely fleeing or anything, Beterbiev is just slow as hell. Going the distance with a boogeyman would be a big deal for him. It kind of reminded me of Michael Moorer vs Vaughn Bean. Lackluster to say the least, but Moorer's trainer was screaming for him to pick up the pace and get him out of there. Before the last round he help his cell phone and went on a tirade about being on the phone with Moorer's son. Does that sound like the guy who was sucking off Beterbiev? Maybe that's why they keep him around. He's a loud shill that most people wouldn't recognize that he's shilling. Teddy is also a legendary hypocrite.TheGingerBomber wrote: ↑12 Nov 2017, 23:48 I was on Atlas' side when he was saying Koelling should have showed more ambition, and that Beterbiev was allowed to keep it boring because he was winning. Re: Wow
Atlas is a fudging weapon, I never used to mind him but he comes across as a bully, I reckon the reason he's still around is that execs are too scared to fire him, last night was a new low I agree, the worst thing about it was that the bickering started when Koelling was having an OK spell, he was finally starting to let his hands go and Teddy and the other guy were too busy squabbling to notice and it was the other guy who kept bringing it back up just as I thought there bitching was dying down
Re: Wow
he tries to make it alll about him. he wants ppl talking about what teddy said about the fight rather than the fight itself. he probably jerks off with pride to reruns of his fireman crap with bradley. of course he also had to write an autobiography.it was full of fantastical crap about him laying out entire groups of ppl in street fights. i read it because someone got it for me. i feel bad that teddy prob got some of their money.

He's a pudendum, as I say. Over the top, outlandish cliches. But I don't think Beterbiev had a responsibility to risk getting countered for the sake of putting on a show. He proved he could take him out with a bit extra work. Chilemba would have given him a better fight.SaadOffTheDeck wrote: ↑13 Nov 2017, 03:17I was on the other guys side. Re: Wow
You're certainly entitled to your opinion. Like everything with Teddy, he's much different in the corner. Moorer was widely ahead in the same way.i don't fault any boxer for how he wants to fight, that being said, beterbiev was more responsible for the fight sucking.TheGingerBomber wrote: ↑13 Nov 2017, 05:47He's a pudendum, as I say. Re: Wow
Surely nobody agreed with Teddy that Mike Reed should've been allowed to continue huh? Dude was getting hammered, and got caught with a left hook that had him all, but out on his feet at the moment of stoppage.
The Beterbiev/Koelling. "This guy's not trying"..."No, THAT guy's not trying" argument is probably the stupidest I've ever heard on a Boxing broadcast.

Re: Wow
I have mixed feelings on Teddy. I'll get the positive stuff out of the way first.
I think he's bright and entertaining, I enjoy his metaphors and he's right about boxing needing to be cleaned up even though he calls certain close fight highway robberies because someone he likes lost in cases where the fighter deserved to lose anyway or it was very close.
He is totally full of himself and he never lost a fight according to his own autobiography. His book constantly talks about character while bragging about trying to kill Don LaLonde as though he had the right to.
His favoritisms are ridiculous. He has talked up mediocre fighters like they're special undoubtedly because the pugilist kissed Teddy's ass.
