Haye/Bellew 2
Haye/Bellew 2
What’s people’s thoughts on this fight?
Admittedly it’s not a world title fight however I’m really interested as to how it’s going to pan out. All the different sub plots that are surrounding it makes it so interesting in my opinion.
Will Haye’s body hold up? if Haye wins does it open up a title shot for him once again? where does Bellew go if he wins? A trilogy?
I know it’s got his haters but this has the potential to be a great fight to end the year on.

If haye is fit, he wins without a doubt imo
However history tells us haye struggles to stay fit
And unless he looks sensational, which I don’t think he will, I hope even when he wins that haye calls it a day
As for Bellew he has no business at heavyweight other than being a mouth piece and an opponent that generates a steady pay day for a real heavyweight

Re: Haye/Bellew 2
Hayes body won't hold up for a title fight of any kind
It may not even hold up for this fight
Was interested in the first fight but not really interested in this one tbh
I'll watch it though

Re: Haye/Bellew 2
if haye wins will we see him vs aj next year? i mean, wouldnt that be as big a celebrity fight you could get in the uk?
Re: Haye/Bellew 2
Not sure if I agree with that completely. Yes that would be the ideal scenario but a good performance with a good stoppage in 6/7/8 would still give him that opportunity. If he fails to win then that’s it, I think he would retire there and then in the ring.
Re: Haye/Bellew 2
ya its legit to question his credibility as he hasnt done much in years. just seems like it would be so big. domestically probably even larger in profile than wilder or parker?
Re: Haye/Bellew 2
Yeah I’d say it’s possibly the biggest revenue fight out there at heavyweight
Re: Haye/Bellew 2
If haye wins, i think bellew will eye the 3rd then retire. He is in awkward place really, he will make some amazing money this year, if he loses and steps back down to cruiser, there isnt really anyone who will make him the money that he can beat.
But if haye wins, he himself will look for AJ or even Parker.
If bellew wins, haye will retire & go to promoting.
Bellew will be stuck between cruiserweights who would destroy him, & heavyweights he won't fight. So i imagine he will retire. Bellew will no way beat any of the cruisers in the super series

If Haye wins he'll no doubt get a big fight with Parker or Joshua,Parker would be more than willing to come here and Joshua fills stadiums whoever he fights so that would be no problem. If Bellew wins it would be hard for him to go back to cruiser as the pay days won't be there for him so i could see him retiring and working for sky a lot more.
Re: Haye/Bellew 2
I hate the idea that the winner of this fight could be in line for a title shot, but in this age of celebrity and second rate heavyweights I suppose it is to be expected.
If Bellew wins he should either go back to cruiser, or retire. He will never fight AJ, Wilder or Parker so no point staying at heavyweight.
If Haye wins I would like him to get a win over a decent natural heavyweight, before looking at the champions. He should have to earn his shot.

Have you seen the cruiser division? If he moves down, he gets beasted by every champion. Usyk, Briedis, Glowacki, Dorticos, Gassiev all beat him hands downkeirw wrote: ↑16 Nov 2017, 05:43 I hate the idea that the winner of this fight could be in line for a title shot, but in this age of celebrity and second rate heavyweights I suppose it is to be expected.

Re: Haye/Bellew 2
Haye wins - sets up Joshua Haye as the next fight for both. Winner gets Wilder next summer. Bellew retires.
Bellew wins - can see Hearn looking to make Bellew Parker at Goodison in May. Joshua has a stay busy (Pulev/Ortiz if he's back) then Wilder. Haye retires.
Bellew could win and retire I guess. No point in dropping to CW again and he's not a viable opponent for Joshua.

Re: Haye/Bellew 2
What a difference 6 months makes in boxing.
I was (along with the whole boxing community) lumping on Haye early.
So many questions about Hayes form and health mean this is now a competetive fight amongst boxing fans.
I’m sticking to my guns, completely ignoring the fight earlier this year (the Achilles was gone pre-fight).
If Haye is 75% fit, I think he knocks him out.

Re: Haye/Bellew 2
As much as i think haye is over the hill and has numerous injuries going on and wetger he can actually get through a proper training camp without injury, haye vs AJ is the biggest heavyweight fight in the uk at the moment, especially to the die hard boxing fan because we all know haye can punch and we all know AJ has looked abit dodgy round the chin area but i do feel that haye would end up flat out with in 3 rounds
Re: Haye/Bellew 2
The cruiserweight division has been packed with beasts for years, but it didn't stop Hearn from finding Bellew a winnable title fight.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑16 Nov 2017, 05:59Have you seen the cruiser division? Due to the WBSS, by the end of next year the division will be unified by a fighter (most likely Usyk) who will no longer have anything to prove in the division and will likely move up to heavy. Leaving a pile of vacant belts in his wake.
Although, if Allen wins and Bellew loses on the same night, I can definitely see that fight happening.
Re: Haye/Bellew 2
Bellew all but ran from Haye before his foot went, and it'll be the exact same again, Haye will win on pts bcos his foot wont go again (surely)
Re: Haye/Bellew 2
Again like others have said it is down to whether Haye is fully or almost fully fit. If he is then I think he wins my mid round stoppage.
Despite what Bellew says, I get the impression that he isn't quite as motivated for this fight as he was the first given that he is now much more financially secure and also won't in my view have the fear factor that he had in the first fight which can impair performance.
Alternatively, we've surely got to expect a more focused, less complacent Haye who will come out firing on all cylinders. If we don't get that then Haye needs to just hang them up. I don't care what anyone says, he didn't take Bellew seriously last time or certainly not as seriously as he should have taken him and that coupled with the injury led to a disasterous night for him. I think we'll see a much more focused man this time.

Re: Haye/Bellew 2
Strange one for Eddie as wont want his fighter losing but equally if Haye wins then that spells big bucks in a potential fight with AJ in Spring/Summer
If Bellew wins, only HW he would have a semi decent chance against would be Parker (purely due to size).

Re: Haye/Bellew 2
I can envisage a scenario in which Wilder fights Joshua soon, perhaps next..... for all the baubles (except WBO) with some stipulation that the winner must fight Whyte within 90 days.... that fight will not happen so it will be Whyte vs winner of Haye / Bellew 2 for vacant WBC title.... Hearn is already brewing it - he's cooled massively on the notion of Whyte vs Wilder and Bellew was being quite critical of Whyte.
Re: Haye/Bellew 2
I'd give Bellew a great chance vs Whyte - who is pretty poor and seems to have issues with Balance / Chin since AJ.
Re: Haye/Bellew 2
Yea id give Bellew a chance against Whyte
Whyte ain't up to much
Whyte ain't up to much
Re: Haye/Bellew 2
I think Hearn wouldn't mind Bellew winning as he gets the chance to do Parker Bellew in a stadium which would do big money. There's no other way to really get much out of Bellew; if he loses he'll probably retire and he's not going to fight Joshua regardless.
On the other hand Haye winning does create a massive fight for Joshua. It's win-win for him really. Joshua does the business against anyone.
Re: Haye/Bellew 2
The rematch actually intrigues me more than the first offering as initially I though Haye would blow Bellew away easy and early. There's a few more questions needing answered over this bout. It's still a massive pile of gash for a PPV though! It wouldn't surprise me if Haye breaks down again. He needs to start slow, show a bit of patience and pick his moment because when he lands properly on Bellew he will fold. I think he came in to the first fight injured and got too desperate to finish it early.
