The worst was the Brook fight when he kept calling Spence ‘Spencer’. I wonder if Carl actually watches any boxing outside of replays of his own fights at Wembley?

Froch has admitted in the past that he doesn't follow boxing which makes his appointment as an expert all that more funny.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑16 Nov 2017, 19:22The worst was the Brook fight when he kept calling Spence ‘Spencer’. Sky’s coverage has dumbed down markedly since the exit of top class all rounder ed robinson. For the most part it’s sh1t pantomime sports coverage topped off with a vacuous milf presenter with no obvious journalistic credentials or boxing background reducing every conversation to sh1t.
BN is my favourite. I could listen to Buncey and Barry and Lillis talk boxing all night. BT do a good job too. Dempsey’s top class and i like their pundits. Not sure about the onscreen chemistry between dempsey and bunce though. And to cap it all off Ronald Macdonald doing the interviews.

I remember the Spence(r) vs. Brook fight. I thought someone might correct it. I guess they thought it must have been more fun this way lol

I wouldn't call Anna Woolhouse a milf, she's only about 24. Would smash though.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑16 Nov 2017, 20:29 Sky’s coverage has dumbed down markedly since the exit of top class all rounder ed robinson. Re: Broadcast Team: Sky Sports vs. Box-Nation
As an all round Broadcast, BN wins by miles.
Reading the posts that lament SkySports makes enjoyable reading because I switched Sky off years ago and went over to BN and that completely refreshed my interest in boxing, which Sky was managing to kill off (and I have no other sport I'm interested in from a spectator view point, so that was a disaster). Sky had become unbearable ages ago so I can only imagine how appalling it must be now.
Steve Bunce has a tough job of pleasing everyone and to his credit has improved immeasurably over the years. The Boxing hour is a must watch for me now and him & Barry Jones do a great job together and long may it continue.
Steve Lillis is a fantastic old school journalist who balances that with keeping up with the times and is always a welcome guest/pundit in the studio.
Alex Steadman's enthusiasm for the sport and knowledge is there for all to see when he hosts the excellent Boxing Matters.

Re: Broadcast Team: Sky Sports vs. Box-Nation
allegedly boys for me. The commentary on sky is so bias and one sided. But heres a thing. Eddie very rarely pits his boys against each other. Whereas frank doesnt seem to have a problem doing it. So the home fighter is often both boxers so the team can call it how they see it without pissing the promoter off haha
Re: Broadcast Team: Sky Sports vs. Box-Nation
Yea BN ain't usually biased but they was for smith-Williams 2

I don’t mind BN or sky but I think people go over the top on how bad they think sky is
Re: Broadcast Team: Sky Sports vs. Box-Nation
I like Bunce & Steve Lillis as a partnership - it's like 2 blokes down the pub but its far more engaging than the stiffs Sky roll out.

Re: Broadcast Team: Sky Sports vs. Box-Nation
I guess Bellew has switched heavyweight gay lover from David Price to Joshua.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Nov 2017, 17:30 Former WBC cruiserweight champion and current heavyweight contender Tony Bellew believes Parker, despite his record and world title, is in no way entitled to receive 40% of the money.
"Parker is dreaming if he thinks he can take 40 per cent of an Anthony Joshua fight at Wembley.
That's absolutely ridiculous," Bellew said to Metro.
"A fight with Joshua is probably five times more than Parker has ever earned. He's not entitled to that. The best fight on his record is Carlos Takam and that was a narrow victory. Joshua won every single round against Takam in Cardiff. Parker's team are dining out on this WBO title and they should be very, very careful what they wish for.
"There's several heavyweights out there that can beat Parker. I'm one of them. If I was Parker I wouldn't even think of going to Russia to fight Alexander Povetkin, he would lose that fight. And then he'll be kicking himself for turning down a record payday fight with Joshua."

He's not even on Sky Sports and he's still on AJ's ****! Lol a boxer commenting on another boxers purse? What kind of poo is that? Haha
Re: Broadcast Team: Sky Sports vs. Box-Nation
Host - Paul Dempsey.
Pundits - Matthew Macklin, Jamie Moore, Glenn McCrory.
Comms - Ian Darke, Barry Jones - maybe add Paulie if it's stateside.
Think those guys would give the best balance of boxing knowledge and lack of hype/bullshit.
EDIT - We've had Al Bernstein over a couple of times on ch5 actually, I'll cheat a bit and have him instead of Paulie for the big ones. Paulie talks a bit too much.
EDIT 2 - Only have Macklin if it's not an MTK fighter.

I like bellew the best.
He gives his honest opinion and that's all I ask for...
I like all the channels and a Saturday night with no boxing on UK evening times gets me down.. the more boxing the better and I like it the most when I know the two fighters that are fighting each other

Box-Nation showed how it's done last night for Charr vs. Ustinov
Re: Broadcast Team: Sky Sports vs. Box-Nation
The biggest criticism in general of 95% of them is that they talk too much.
It's telly, not radio.

Re: Broadcast Team: Sky Sports vs. Box-Nation
100% I love watching old fights where the commentators only spoke when there was something that needed saying
Buncey was good last night with Barry but spoke far too much
Re: Broadcast Team: Sky Sports vs. Box-Nation
Less is more in boxing commentary sometimes
Re: Broadcast Team: Sky Sports vs. Box-Nation
Probably...but I didn't mind... they were really relaxed... and it was all entertaining, felt like old mates...
Made me realise how poor most of it is.
Re: Broadcast Team: Sky Sports vs. Box-Nation
That one commentator, Ronald... I appreciate that he's put a ton of effort in...and he seems like a likeable chap... But he literally describes every single punch. It's exhausting listening to him.
The SKY team all seem unable to give any kind of balanced view. They decide who they think will win and that's it. They just ignore the other fella until he's close to getting stopped and then they remember to mention how brave he's been. The US teams are even worse for it.
But SKY's coverage this weekend was a big improvement for me on their recent efforts.
