Actor Slim Thompson who acted both in the film & Broadway of Petrified Forest with Humphrey Bogart, has a boxing record on boxrec. which is 0-1. According to his imdb page, he lost another bout in 1931 in Iowa.

We have two fights for one Slim Thompson in our database. One in North Carolina, the other in Iowa. They don't look like they belong to the same fighter at all. In fact, I don't think mixed bouts (black vs. white) were even allowed in North Carolina at the time which the Battling Dick vs. Slim Thompson fight would have been. To be honest, I think somone has been googling for Slim Thompson, found two boxing matches for that name, assumed they belong to the actor and added it to IMDb. I deleted the page in our Wiki because this is all just speculation.
