DLH comeback vs MCGregor.
DLH comeback vs MCGregor.
I really thought this was just a wind up, but it makes a lot of sense. I think it is one of the few fights for McGregor to make sense, it is winnable for him and DLH is a name huge enough to continue with this "joke".
But still I thought it was a wind up, but it is now on Paddypower as listed for being on the same bill as Canelo vs GGG 2 and DLH has said that he believes Canelo vs GGG 2 will break box office records - there is no way it would break it unless it was part of an extraveganzer - but with McGregor vs DLH has co feature - it could do.
Do you think this will happen?

might happen but doubt on same bill
all 4 of them would want the biggest purse split, I cant see any of them agreeing

Re: DLH comeback vs MCGregor.
Feel sorry for DLH tbh. I know he gets a lot of stick and he has done some stupid ass stuff but he was a truly ballsy and accomplished fighter. Sure he came unstuck a few times and took that miscalculation and ran against Tito but he took on challenges and was a very decent fighter, was not scared to accept fights and made them happen. Had a great attitude and even at the tailend, did better against Mayweather than nearly anyone else. Now he just seems lost without the adulation and maybe the actual thrill of the fight.
Re: DLH comeback vs MCGregor.
Sad thing is, I can actually see this pile of utter gash happening!
Re: DLH comeback vs MCGregor.
What a dinlo & a hypocrite ODLH is
Stupidest thing I've heard
"Secret training"

Re: DLH comeback vs MCGregor.
I actually think (and perhaps I am a sucker) it is actually not hypocritical. He was critical of the Mayweather vs McGregor fight and then of Mayweather's performance - so much so that he is predicting (a washed up 40 something who hasn't fought in 8/9 years) can beat McGregor in 2 rounds and put an end to the circus.
This business that he is "faster than ever" is obviously delusional.

No way this happens on the Canelo vs GGG card.

Re: DLH comeback vs MCGregor.
This wouldn’t happen on the Canelo v GGG bill and probably not at all.
It’s a shame that ODLH is often ridiculed, there are few boxers out there with such a high level of competition throughout their career.
He’s right up there as one of my favourite boxers ever.

Can't believe there keeps being threads about this

Never faced a man with a losing record either, can't think of anyone else who can claim that.tobyh5 wrote: ↑20 Nov 2017, 09:13 Feel sorry for DLH tbh. That would no longer be the case if he fights Conorbanjo wrote: ↑20 Nov 2017, 13:16Never faced a man with a losing record either, can't think of anyone else who can claim that.tobyh5 wrote: ↑20 Nov 2017, 09:13 Feel sorry for DLH tbh. Absolutely, DLH is in his mid 40s and hasn't fought in close to 10 years and hasn't exactly been living a clean and healthy lifestyle in retirement.Covfefe wrote: ↑20 Nov 2017, 12:57Winnable for who? Whilst if McGregor wasn't a huge PPV start then fighters like Peter McDonagh would be perfectly acceptable and a 50:50 fight IMO - that isn't going to happen. McGregor will need some kind of name for intrigue - DLH is perfect for this.

If Oscar gets himself in shape and is focused, he can win.
McGregor is a very, very average boxer at best.

Not even worth talking about
Re: DLH comeback vs MCGregor.
He was boxings cash cow till mayweather beat him,i thought he won that fight. ODLH was my fav fighter of the late 90's early 00's well right up till he beat mayorga, never ducked a challenge and was exciting to watch, proper all rounder i thought.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑20 Nov 2017, 11:55 This wouldn’t happen on the Canelo v GGG bill and probably not at all.

Re: DLH comeback vs MCGregor.
Id like to see him box McGregor in his fishnets
Re: DLH comeback vs MCGregor.
If De La Hoya turns up, and wants to win he’d win inside two rounds. I’m sure he’ll stretch it out like Mayweather did but let’s be honest here, McGregor has zero chance to beat him.stujones wrote: ↑20 Nov 2017, 13:59Absolutely, DLH is in his mid 40s and hasn't fought in close to 10 years and hasn't exactly been living a clean and healthy lifestyle in retirement.Covfefe wrote: ↑20 Nov 2017, 12:57Winnable for who? I don't think Oscar brings enough money to make it worth McGregor's while. It definitely wouldn't be an undercard. Too much money and too much ego.

I think that a fight between Oscar and McGregor would be as big as the Floyd McGregor fight. Oscar was the biggest PPV seller in boxing in his prime. They would hype this one up.

Probably not quite as big but certainly generates substantially larger purses than defending a UFC beltTheLeprechaun wrote: ↑22 Nov 2017, 07:01SaadOffTheDeck wrote: ↑21 Nov 2017, 11:40 I don't think Oscar brings enough money to make it worth McGregor's while. You think Oscar/McGregor would do 4 million buys? You have to be joking. Oscar/Tito did 1.4.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑22 Nov 2017, 07:01SaadOffTheDeck wrote: ↑21 Nov 2017, 11:40 I don't think Oscar brings enough money to make it worth McGregor's while.
