Tyson Fury will resume his UKAD hearing in December
Tyson Fury’s anti-doping hearing is set to resume in December as his planned return to the ring gathers pace.
Fury has not boxed in two years since winning the world heavyweight championship from Wladimir Klitschko - since then, his boxing license has been stripped and he has been awaiting the resumption of an anti-doping case after being charged with "the presence of a prohibited substance" in June 2016.
"December, that's true," said Robert Smith, the British Boxing Board of Control general secretary, when asked by Sky Sports when Fury's hearing would resume.
"The reason why this has taken so long, so I have been led to believe, is because Mr Fury's legal team could not agree a date for the recommencement of the hearing. They obviously now have, and the hearing will recommence."
Fury issued a scathing criticism of UKAD in September as he awaited a new date to clear his name, but the organisation responded, saying: "From the beginning, UK Anti-Doping has pushed for resolution of the charges as quickly as possible and has invested significant resources in trying to achieve this. There are various reasons why, nevertheless, the charges have not yet been heard on the merits.
"It is therefore inaccurate to suggest either that UK Anti-Doping is failing to pursue these charges as quickly as possible, or that Mr Tyson Fury and Mr Hughie Fury [who was also charged] are being treated differently to other athletes."
"We would like to help him clear up his stuff with UKAD and start building a schedule that will lead to Joshua," Hearn said earlier this month.
UKAD refused to comment on the resumption of Fury's hearing when contacted by Sky Sports.

Re: Tyson Fury will resume his UKAD hearing in December
It seems quite clear to me that UKAD believe they have sufficient scientific evidence to prove their case and the only reason why the hearing hasn't been heard is that the Fury side have continually asked for delays. All the rest is pure speculation.
I don't know exactly what the procedures are but I've got to assume that UKAD supply details of their findings to TEAM FURY and the BBB of C and allow the other parties to carry out their own testing if they wish.
What must be clear to us all is that UKAD believe they have a case.
It would be sad if Tyson is 'found guilty', because he would then face a ban presumably and depending on when the tests were done would it effect his result against Klitschko? However, given that Tyson appears to be back in training maybe his team have been given positive news from their advisors.

Re: Tyson Fury will resume his UKAD hearing in December
Tyson must have passed ped tests before and after the Klitschko fight then, surely? I can't see The Brothers agreeing without a clean test before the bout and aren't all title contestants automatically tested post-fight? Or am I missing something here?
My point being that an allegedly failed test in February 20015 would not have been relevant to the Fury/Wlad fight 9 months later and therefore Tyson's win stays in the record books and he is still the linear champion.
The sport needs a single world testing agency that has jurisdiction over every registered professional boxer and if a test is failed then it must be proven and dealt with swiftly before he can resume his career. If they want to stall and obstruct the process they are losing their own time and money. This case would have been done and dusted before any agreement was reached with the Klitschko's, there are too many agencies of dubious quality in my opinion - WADA, VADA, UKAD, USAD etc - just get one and fund it properly for crying out loud. There are the four main governing bodies for a start who could fund it with some of the sanctioning fee's they take.

Re: Tyson Fury will resume his UKAD hearing in December
There was a thread on here recently where someone was saying how good Fury looked and how he was losing weight. How old is that photo, because if it's recent then he's clearly still in demonstrably abysmal shape.
I don't think he's serious about a comeback at all. If he was then he'd be in shape and making a very public demonstration of his willing to fight. Instead we are treated to fat guy videos of a breathless Tyson gurning to camera and calling people out who he has no chance of fighting any time soon given his condition and lack of licence.

HENNESSY SPORTS STATEMENT
On 30 October 2017, Robert Smith of the BBBoC blamed Tyson Fury for delays to his anti-doping hearing. He said to Sky Sports, “We [the BBBoC] are ready to go, UKAD are ready to go on our behalf, and the independent panel are waiting for a confirmed date. It’s up to them [Team Fury] now [to propose a date].”
Then, on 23 November 2017, Mr Smith reiterated to Sky Sports, “The reason why this has taken so long, so I have been led to believe, is because Mr Fury’s legal team could not agree a date for the recommencement of the hearing. They obviously now have, and the hearing will recommence [in December 2017].”
Mr Smith is incorrect. While Team Fury have been advised not to discuss this matter until it is over, we would like to clarify as follows:
(i) This matter started in February 2015 – almost 3 years ago – after routine doping control tests.
(ii) Tyson and Hughie were not notified of the results of those tests for 7 months, and even then UKAD simply asked them about their diet. There was never any suggestion that Tyson and Hughie had done anything wrong or that they might be in any sort of trouble.
(iii) Then, without warning, UKAD charged Tyson and Hughie in June 2016 in relation to the February 2015 tests – i.e. 16 months after the tests.
(iv) A hearing eventually took place in May 2017 but was halted after UKAD objected to the participation of a tribunal member.
(v) Hearing dates were then proposed for early October 2017 but UKAD’s team (not Team Fury’s team) was unavailable.
(vi) A hearing has now been fixed for December 2017.
Contrary to the BBBoC’s suggestion, therefore, the delays have not been caused by Team Fury.

Jeez what a complete mess! Neither side have covered themselves in glory and I'm no Legal Eagle but I suspect if this case went to a conventional court the judge would throw it out. UKAD have clearly neglected to observe due diligence and if you are going to accuse a professional athlete (yes I know Tyson doesn't look like one but he is) of doping then you really do need to get all your ducks in a row first. I doubt that Team Fury is completely blameless for this utter shambles but UKAD are a joke of an org if that Hennessey statement is anywhere near the truth.

Yet with even these facts the majority on here will still blame Fury.mimmy123 wrote: ↑24 Nov 2017, 11:55 HENNESSY SPORTS STATEMENT

BJS said Tyson could ruin UKAD. Apparently his backers aren't millionaires, but oil Barron's, etc! He said UKAD are in trouble.
