Both guys are great at applying pressure and breaking down opponents with combinations, mixing it up to the head and body. I thought Chavez seemed a little more fluid with his combos, while Duran was just faster overall. Chavez was methodical and a little more predictable. Duran could swarm and come at different angles. Sometimes it would look like he was coming to one side of the opponent's body and then a sudden movement would put him at the other side, and he'd attack. Ultimately I think Duran's superior speed and ability to also box so well at range would be the difference. Chavez has few advantages on Duran. Maybe chin (slight), maybe combinations (slight)...but Duran was better overall.
At lightweight? Duran, he was something else at lightweight. It‘s an amazing matchup, as you hardly ever get two fighters like that around at the same time
