Tonight will be the 12th time I have watched Kovalev live on TV

Post by victor-romeo »

I didn't realize how long I have been following this guy and what a great career he has had. A list of the fights I saw live on TV:
Kovalev vs :

Ward II
Ward I
Chilemba
Pascal II
Mohammedi
Pascal I
Hopkins
Caparello
Agnew
Sillakh
Cleverly
What a great career so far now we need to get Beterbiev on the list ..

Damn, what a weak list. Even though it is relative to what was available.
Shows how big an omission Stevenson is for both guys.

Stevenson the guy who built a whole career off of one win against a spent Chad Dawson, and then went on to fight a bunch of limited opposition yea..

Meanwhile Kovalev about 3 fights from boxing HOF when he retires, and Stevenson is fighting next?? I lost track, I think it was Alvarez until that fight was called off I am not even sure because Stevenson pretty much irrelevant to me.

Whilst there's really no doubt about Kovalev's world-class calibre, I'm not so sure that he's done enough to qualify for the IBHOF.

Perhaps he can dominate the 175lbs division for the next five years, though that seems highly-unlikely, but he currently hasn't achieved enough to warrant consideration for being considered a Hall-of-Famer.
