Just because Mayweather got away with being greedy doesn't make it right and something that should be accepted.
We're not going to agree though. I think fighters should be fairly paid and I don't think he is being greedy asking for around 1/3. You think he should accept what he is told because he's never received a big purse before and he's going to get "battered" anyway.
We're poles apart on this one.
What should the AJ Parker split be?

Re: What should the AJ Parker split be?
What does this have to do with Mayweather?
Point is a simple one. Parker isn't good enough to carry on beating people because sooner or later he'll have a Hughie type fight and lose. His big fight with Joshua goes up in smoke.
Joshua doesn't need Parker. Is he the biggest money spinner? No. Is he the biggest name? Not even top three. Arguably not even top ten based on talent.
I think he'll accept 70-30.

Ask what both fighters bring against comparitive opponents. They've both fought Takam; how did that work?
Re: What should the AJ Parker split be?
Parker is making himself look silly imo

I read this from a pro boxer today. Bang on in my opinionjamamb wrote: ↑24 Nov 2017, 23:03 you said parker and his team think 100 percent theyd beat aj, not simply that they think he could beat him. i dont buy it at all that pretty much all high level athletes percieve no risk of losing to anyone. total bs to generalize such a high level of certainty. plus of course they will act confident in public.
but look at the reality of cautious matchmaking, catchweights, pre fight nerves, etc. and too high of demands when if the win was guarnteed they could just take the fight and make huge bucks and glory with the inevitable wins.
your saying there is no risk vs reward calculation, which is bs. this sport is built on risk vs reward these days. .a team is doing a bad job if they dont recognize their fighters limitations
“You have to be deluded to be a great fighter - you have to have a delusion of your ability so that when you shoot for the stars - you land on the moon.
That complete belief and often over estimation of ones ability’s is a pre-requisite of nearly every legendary fighter. To be a great champ - you must be the man, you must be the alpha, you must secretly believe that you more then anyone else deserves and will have this opportunity.
Having spent many years around champions - they ALL think like that. Without fail. It would take a truly incredible amount of ability to be weak minded and still be successful as a fighter. That sadly is just how it is. “
