Imagine Kovalev beating Bivol and Beterbiev! That would be some very good wins!
"Chicken (Stevenson) is on my list, too, but I'm ready for any champion, like Bivol, and Beterbiev because this is very good for boxing. Let's do it. I'm ready," Kovalev said.

Re: Imagine Kovalev beating Bivol and Beterbiev! That would be some very good wins!
none of these other guys are near ward. ward is better than kov but kov was in those fights and won rounds, so kov could well be better than them, maybe by a lot. i feel bert is a bit of a hype job, and bivol a bit too.
strvenson is a dream fight but doubt we ever see it, esp. with adoniss age. always liked stevenson there but close to 50-50
i like this new mix of lhws, powerful and agressive, though think there is a touch of eastern euro overhype to some of them.im not convinced that bert or bivol beat barrera. badou jack, kov, and adonis the top 3 for mine.

Stevenson is out of the question. He'd probably fight Jack or Alvarez.jamamb wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 07:54 none of these other guys are near ward. ward is better than kov but kov was in those fights and won rounds, so kov could well be better than them, maybe by a lot. i feel bert is a bit of a hype job, and bivol a bit too.

Kovalev, Gvozdyk, Barrera, Bivol, Beterbiev, Jack and Alvarez. This divison is stacked.

We've seen great action this year from Joshua, Wilder Spence, Brook, GGG, Jacobs, Canelo, Lemieux, Eubank and many others. And still a month, and at least 2 great fights left.
Credit to all those who saw this coming. If they could clean up the sport it could even get bigger in 2018.

Kovalev was given a guaranteed opportunity to fight Adonis Stevenson, but he declined. The fight didn't happen, because the Russian didn't want it.

Schaefer should throw money at LHW WBSS ASAP. Kovalev, Beterbiev, Bivol, Gvozdyk, Jack, Barrera. What a company! Maybe even Stevenson decides to cash out. Alvarez and Smith to make it 8.

No he's not. Ward would have lost both of the Kovalev fights - the first by decision, the second by disqualification - if they were fighting in an honest place and Ward didn't have all the extra mob people on his side, namely Las Vegas referees and judges, and Ward is certainly not better than the version of Kovalev we saw last night. I'd like to see a rematch between K and Ward that does NOT take place in the most corrupt city on the planet, the place that they boastfully call "sin city". I'd put K's odds of winning that at 20 to 1, but of course Ward would never consent to a fair fight.

Re: Imagine Kovalev beating Bivol and Beterbiev! That would be some very good wins!
Kovalev was definitely better in their first fight and started well in the second. His functional condition was the main problem. He got so used to beating people or at least pushing them into a shell in the first half of the fight that he wasn't preparing well enough, drinking, etc. In shape Kovalev is clearly better than Ward. Even not so much in shape Kovalev beat Ward in their first fight.
Re: Imagine Kovalev beating Bivol and Beterbiev! That would be some very good wins!
Kovalev won the 1st fight end of there is no sane person on this Planet that doesn’t realise that. Personally I think Beterbiev is the best of the bunch and would of beaten Ward and will beat Kovalev and Bicol he simply is a freak in strength. Although Ward only fights in one place and runs much like Mayweather did..
Our Anthony Yarde would give them all a good fight

If any one of three defeated the other two in 2018, it would be a major achievement. It might not establish class superiority though. Too many legit contenders at LHW currently.

There are great examples of poor judging. SOGgy v Krushedner I is not one of them.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 13:59The reality of corrupt judging.Tanzio wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 13:50SOGgy won the first fight, close.simcaboy wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 13:38 Kovalev won the 1st fight end of there is no sane person on this Planet that doesn’t realise that. Definitely stacked deck of Vegas , but that what happens when you are an outsider like Kovalev wanting a payday you are at a huge disadvantage and you get cheated.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 13:59The reality of corrupt judging.Tanzio wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 13:50SOGgy won the first fight, close.simcaboy wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 13:38 Kovalev won the 1st fight end of there is no sane person on this Planet that doesn’t realise that. I had it 95-93 Sosa. One swing round would have made it the draw one of the judges scored it. As I have mentioned, I did not devote full attention to that fight.victor-romeo wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 14:03Just like Gamboa beat Sosa..that kind of reality..Tanzio wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 13:50SOGgy won the first fight, close.simcaboy wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 13:38 Kovalev won the 1st fight end of there is no sane person on this Planet that doesn’t realise that. I was completely focused on SOGgy v Krushedner I, and I was pulling for Krushedner to finish him, but my card agreed with the judges.

Re: Imagine Kovalev beating Bivol and Beterbiev! That would be some very good wins!
I didn't pay full attention to the Sosa fight myself , but with the knockdown, and point deduction vs Gamboa I could tell something wasn't right with the wide scores against against Sosa. I was using the Sosa fight as an easy retort to to you misleading statement about reality. I watched Ward vs Kovalev I and had Kovalev winning...This is boxing. I also had Hagler beating Leonard, DeLahoya beating Trinidad. Do I think Kovalev got a fair decision in the first fight I don't.
I will give Ward props though for fighting Kovalev. That I respect him for..and I will save the analyses of how Ward, made adjustments after about the 6th round of the first fight and carried them into the 2nd fight..

Re: Imagine Kovalev beating Bivol and Beterbiev! That would be some very good wins!
In my opinion, many people over-weight a KD in fights. It is simply a loss of a point, nothing more, unless it leads to a stoppage.
Re: Imagine Kovalev beating Bivol and Beterbiev! That would be some very good wins!
Bivol is getting overrated pretty hard. He's done nothing as a professional, nothing as an amateur. Even Andrzej Fonfara has 5 wins that trump anything Bivol has done as a professional or as an amateur. It seriously smacks of Russian bias when you act like the #2, #7, and #13-rated fighters on boxrec are actually the 3 best dudes in the division; two of them haven't done shit, and lo and behold, they are all Russian. Why does it seem like Russians are always getting an automatic +200 points without earning it?

He'd definitely beat beterbiev.
Re: Imagine Kovalev beating Bivol and Beterbiev! That would be some very good wins!
ya bivol has fought total shit as a pro. but thought he was a good amateur. won youth world titles, euro title, and lots of russian titles, which is good considering how good russia is in amateurs.
he just doesnt convince me yet though.
