Anthony Yigit vs Joe Hughes

Post by handsofstone »

Yigit defends his European Super Lightweight title against Hughes this Saturday on Channel 5, great opportunity for Hughes, I like him he's a tough, honest fighter and as game as they come, I thought he was unlucky to only get a draw in his British title fight against Nurse, he has a good jab and is also good on the inside

Ive not seen Yigit for a while, think I might have seen him early in his career, he's fought in UK a couple of times and has fought a few Brits, he's undefeated but does have a draw with Welshman Tony Pace who Hughes has beaten, I never seen his win over Daws

I'm not sure about Yigit's style but I assume he's more of a boxer than Hughes, I fancy Hughes to try and bully him and I reckon he'll have success, not sure what way this will go, I'm siding towards Yigit but wouldn't be surprised if Hughes outhustles him to a decision

Looks like this may be a half decent card.

Great opportunity for Hughes to upset Yigit's applecart.

I think Yigit's a level or two above Hughes and will defend successfully and with the Channel 5 exposure perfectly sets up a bout with Josh Taylor next year.

Yigits stance is quite unorthodox, very wide feet low dipped down style and quite tricky to deal with.I think Yigit will be able to work from a distance with those wide feet and still get inside with it when he needs to.

Sets up a Josh Taylor fight after hopefully and its great to see Taylor going the traditional route.
