I don't see how either of those guys have a more impressive win resume than even Canelo or Kovalev let alone someone like Roy Jones or Pacquiao. Joshua only has one hall of famer on his resume and The one guy Rigo beat is questionable to if he's a hall of famer at best.

Rigo: Best win is Donaire and he may not be a hall of famer.
You're putting these guys against
Jones wins:
Hopkins
Toney
Hill
McCallum
Pacquiao wins:
Barrera
Morrales

Re: Which active boxer has the most impressive win resume?
Dude, you're extraordinarily wrong, here. Any 1 of Pacquiao's 10 best wins is as good as Rigondeaux's entire resume. Either of his wins against Barrera is better than Donaire, Agbeko, and everything else combined. Either of his wins against Morales is better than everything Rigondeaux has done combined. Any 1 of his wins against JMM is better than everything Rigondeaux has done combined. Any 1 of his wins against Bradley is at least equal to everything Rigondeaux has done combined. The win over Cotto is about equal to everything Rigondeaux has done combined. The win over Hatton is nearly equal to everything Rigondeaux has ever done. All of the other wins (Clottey, Mosley, Margarito, DLH, Rios, Vargas, Ledwaba, Sasakul) together possibly exceed Rigondeaux's resume. The comparison isn't even close. You might as well be saying that getting to the NBA finals 1 time is a better achievement than winning the NBA championship 6 times.asdfjkl wrote: ↑28 Nov 2017, 00:04Do most people in their own country actually know who they are?
Re: Which active boxer has the most impressive win resume?
I know but I really do think that historically, it will be widely acknowledged as a win for GGG when listing out his accomplishments for HOF or all time lists considerations. Just like Timothy Bradley getting zero credit for his win against Manny, Canelo won't be able to use it to help his case in any way. So there really was a winner that night and it was GGG IMO.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑27 Nov 2017, 08:27It's a good case to make.. The question does say 'win resume'.. I thought he beat Canelo, but the records will always show a draw.caldo2025 wrote: ↑27 Nov 2017, 08:05 I don't even think it's close or debatable...GGG has the most impressive resume of any current/active boxer in the world. Tell me if you can find anyone with a tougher stretch of fights in the last 2 years...Canelo, Jacobs, Brook and Lemieux? Kidding me? No one has even come close to putting together a strong of quality wins like that.
Unfortunately, GGG's career has been marred by those "Ya but" critics that have refused to give GGG his due. For instance, Daniel Jacobs got more publicity or credit than GGG did and GGG won the fight. Brook got his head broken but he's a warrior for getting in the ring with GGG even though he didn't last half the fight. Lemieux was knocking everyone out...GGG demolishes him and all of a sudden Lemieux isn't as good as we thought he was even though Lemieux continued to knock everyone out after the GGG fight too. I'm hopeful that the robbery against Canelo finally changes things and the public can begin appreciating GGG more because I've been saying it for years, this is a once in a lifetime talent we are watching. The best Middleweight i've ever witnessed since I started watching in 1975. My opinion...I know it's arguable.
I still think his win resume is good still, he cleared out as many middleweights that got into the ring with him..
Not to mention that I think that fans all over, even the Mexicano's, are sick of Canelo's favoritism from the judges. At least when Floyd was the Vegas Kingpin, he actually won all of the fights that he had fixed on the back end. He had a couple of close ones but for the most part, Floyd won his fights. Canelo should have at least 2 more losses, perhaps 3 if you scored the Trout fight like i did. How did i get on my soapbox about this? It's not even the topic is it? lol
Re: Which active boxer has the most impressive win resume?
I guess you can take the question a few ways. I don't think that the OP was talking about total amount of wins vs losses here? I read it as who's had the most quality wins for active boxers and I'd really love to see who you would select instead of GGG.IKSRTFO wrote: ↑27 Nov 2017, 14:38But the question wasn't win resume in the last 2 years, it was simply a win resume and GGG doesn't have the most impressive wins resume of ALL active boxers.caldo2025 wrote: ↑27 Nov 2017, 08:05 I don't even think it's close or debatable...GGG has the most impressive resume of any current/active boxer in the world. Even if you do it your way, it's still GGG IMO. 91.7% Knockout percentage which is the best KO % for a MW Champ in history. He knocked out, what? 23 in a row? Now is that what you mean by impressive wins resume...whatever the heck that means.

Yes, Barrera and Morales were loved in Mexico. DLH was an American Boxing superstar. Cotto is a Puerto Rican Boxing superstar. Bradley and Mosley are respected, and well known by U.S. Boxing fans.
People in their countries know them, yes.

Oké, I'll check them, Barrera 7 loses already, Morrales 9 loses, DHL 6 loses (still best name named yet), Cotto 5 loses, Bradley inactive right now, but 13 wins out of his last 16 fights in the past 10 year, all the guys he beat in that time have several loses on their names right now, Mosley 7 loses...
Yea sorry, but really? All time greats? Oké, then we have a different way of looking at things I guess.

Almost every ATG boxer has losses on their record. Some of the best that ever lived have double digit losses on their records. If you don't know who Barrera or Morales or DLH or Cotto are without looking them up you don't even need to be commenting on what an ATG is.
A lot of these fighters lost a lot of their fights when they were past their best days. As is known to happen to many boxers.
Morales was 40-0 or 41-0 or something like that before he ever lost his first bout, so yeah he's pretty damn good.
If you're such a newcomer to the sport that Barrera and Morales are unfamiliar names to you. Do yourself a favor, and watch the following fights wherever you can find them.
Erik Morales vs Marco Antonio Barrera 1 and 3
Marco Antonio Barrera vs Kennedy McKinney
Just to get you started.
Morales was a pleasure to watch. One of my all time favorites.

So what? Most boxers with a 15+ year professional career and 50+ fights will likely have more than 5 losses especially if they've faced other all time greats. Mind you a chunk of Morrales and Barrera's losses came from each other, Pacquiao, and Marquez, all hall of famers. Rigo and Joshua with less than 40 bouts combined have a lot of work to do before being compared to the likes of Morrales, Barrera, Cotto, Bradley, and Mosley.

Re: Which active boxer has the most impressive win resume?
Well, I think far far less as 0,01% of the world knows any of these guys, with any real all time greats, that's simply not the case. I think AJ already is more known as all of those names combined
Re: Which active boxer has the most impressive win resume?
If you think Barrera and Morales were unknowns you must not have been watching Boxing long because they were talked about A LOT for a long time. So much so that Barrera was commonly referred to as MAB for short on fight forums to save time when typing his name which came up frequently.
Re: Which active boxer has the most impressive win resume?
Besides a past it Wladmir, who has Anthony Joshua beat that makes him greater than the guys mentioned? I'll wait....

Re: Which active boxer has the most impressive win resume?
It's got to be Manny. Win or lose (mostly wins) the names on there are incredible. We may never see another fighter with a resume like his.
Re: Which active boxer has the most impressive win resume?
Pacquiao has the best by miles, unless you consider Roy Jones to be active, his last 5-10 years has been very poor though.
Whoever said Rigondeaux needs to be sectioned. He has fought three fighters in the top 10 in his entire career.
If you look at my website, you can see the last 20 fights for 1700 boxers. You can also see the world title fights for the last 25 years with the pre fight ranking of each fighter.

Re: Which active boxer has the most impressive win resume?
Multiple people in this thread have claimed that Gennady Golovkin’s resume is better than the likes of Roy Jones Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, James Toney etc., but the following list of fighters are the only top-ten Ring-rated genuine middleweight opponents he’s ever faced, with only three of them being legitimate world champions at 160lbs:
• Canelo Alvarez (Champion)
• Daniel Jacobs (2)
• David Lemieux (5)
• Martin Murray (7)
• Marco Antonio Rubio (8)
• Daniel Geale (2)
• Matthew Macklin (7)
• Grzegorz Proksa (10)
This is from a guy that has “technically” competed in twenty world title fights! What about the calibre of the other twelve?
I’m not for one second suggesting that GGG isn’t a very good fighter, because he’s clearly one of the very best of our era… and nor am I trying to undermine his accomplishments, but please don’t pretend that he’s achieved far more in this sport than every single other active boxer competing today!
FFS! I’m utterly embarrassed for some of you people!
