Re: How do u view Kovalev?
Ward is overrated due to a few dirty wins and a gift against Kovalev in their first fight. He was good but nowhere close to somebody like Mayweather or Lomachenko.
Re: How do u view Kovalev?
ward is on another level to loma. ward was tremendous. outclassing, out boxing, and bossing guys like froch, kessler, dawson, etc is highly impressive.barring early fights only kovalev has fought him on evenish terms and been 'in' the fight with him.even on a supposedly off performance ward easily beat now top contender barrera, who is better than anyone bivol or bert has faced.
Re: How do u view Kovalev?
ill say, for a lot of ppl the ward fights made them questionkov and start with the 'broken' stuff, but they actually gave him more legitimacy to me. before i thought hed win maybe 2-3 rounds and look perplexed and hardly do anything, but he landed , was right there in the fights and at times outboxed ward outside.
he obviously has flaws but ppl were stupid if they didnt see them before

Very good fighter. Aggressive. Hard puncher. Great killer instinct when his man is hurt.

Re: How do u view Kovalev?
I view him as no.1 at LHW.
His record is the best at the weight and nearly beating Ward is as good as any other LHW's wins. I like his style, a puncher that leads with a good jab. If it's true that he's cut out his bad diet then I can see him being on top of the division another couple of years. Hope we see him face Beterbiev very soon.

Re: How do u view Kovalev?
True. Ward a very good boxer no doubt. But his endless clinching head butting low blowing in fights like against kessler or kovalev and other just took a lot from his status as an atg.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 20:15 Ward is overrated due to a few dirty wins and a gift against Kovalev in their first fight. Its not greco roman wrestling, mma or a street fight, it is called BOXING and in boxing you are not allowed to do what ward did so many times. Easyly 2-3 fights were the ref couldve DQ ward. I remember that elbow he tried to hurt bika with
Re: How do u view Kovalev?
I view him as one of the best fighters who's ever lost to Andre Ward twice.
Re: How do u view Kovalev?
what f@cking twats you guys are
both sides need to get the f@ck over it and stop bitching. there should be a ward-kov master thread for each side to take shots at the other instead of bringing it everywhere else

2nd best LHW of his generation. Possible HOFer if he puts together another good title run, especially if he can get Stevenson in the ring with him.

Re: How do u view Kovalev?
Beautiful boxing skills, technique, huge power, beat Ward clearly and was beating him again till Son of Officials went full retard on his balls.
Will be great to see him back on top of LHW again. Not that he ever left.

I am amazed and irritated by all the people who truly act like ward won a fair fight and deserved to be p4p #1. This more walt disney fantasy these folks got than realness.
Re: How do u view Kovalev?
#1 LHW until defeated by someone not named SOGgy. Yes, the Russian lost them both.

In your dreams
Re: How do u view Kovalev?
Nah, I actually paid attention after the KD in the first fight and recognized a quitter in the second.
Re: How do u view Kovalev?
1 fight.8 rds kov 4 ward, 80 % of media and other had kov
2 fight.15 if not morelow blows, the end of the fight low blows, with the camera capturing the low blows and the ref standing their doing nothing. Dq loss for ward.
I dont care who u got as a winner. I can go delusional mode myself and say postol won against crawford. If u think ward won than so be it. Than be one of those 20 % who either dont know boxing, go by sympathy or both.

. . . or actually watch and score the fight realtime.Jip wrote: ↑29 Nov 2017, 00:211 fight.8 rds kov 4 ward, 80 % of media and other had kov

Re: How do u view Kovalev?
That was always his problem and why he could never beat Kovalev fairly and conclusively, the best he could do was make it close. He just wasn't busy enough to outwork Sergey without getting clocked in return.
Re: How do u view Kovalev?
Exactly. People can lie. Face doesnt lie. Kovalev looked untouched after the 1 fight. Wards face was swollen and tomato red, a winner doesnt look this way when the other looks like after a walk in the park.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑29 Nov 2017, 07:50That was always his problem and why he could never beat Kovalev fairly and conclusively, the best he could do was make it close. Ward felt lh elite power from kovalev. He looked at the ranking with guys of equal punching power in adonis, bertebiev & gvozdyk and said to himself. Enough of having a swollen face.

Re: How do u view Kovalev?
Kovalev should've been awarded the rematch on a DQ -- after Ward (who was warned earlier about low blows) continued unabated to throw low.
You don't rule a "knockout" when one of the combatants bends over from a low blow... That's BULLCRAP!!!

Re: How do u view Kovalev?
Kovalev should have been given 5 minutes to recover, and Ward deducted a point, at least.
Re: How do u view Kovalev?
I view Kovalev as a current light heavyweight leader. He looked sharp in his last fight, he was able to overcome losses. Regarding Ward situation, it looks like, that Andre is just a great boxer, who can think in the ring and adapt to any situation. Kovalev lost to the real deal opponent. Yet I'd say, that Kovalev won the 1st fight. The stoppage in the 2nd one is controversial, but Ward looked better then. So, Kovalev had troublesome times, but he is back and I think, Sergey is able to defeat any other current champ in the division.
