What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
Could break it down..
Pretty Boy Floyd (1996 to 2007)
Money Mayweather (2009 to 2017)

Pretty Boy Floyd: His fight with Phillip Ndou in 2003. That one is fun. Ndou brought it, and Mayweather was sharp as a razor blade.
Money Mayweather: Marcos Maidana 1
I'm a huge Chino fan, and even though the decision didn't go his way seeing one of my favorite fighters do THAT well against the best fighter of this generation was a fun experience, and I was proud of Maidana's effort. I thought he won the fight myself, but eh what are you gonna do.

Probably the Zab Judah fight. Especially the first 4 rounds. I liked the knockdown shot and some of the flurries Zab delivered. He’s a damned good front runner at times. Like Floyd often said "I've fought guys who were faster than me. It takes a round to 2, but timing beats speed."
Later on the volatile Zab got a little frustrated with a steadily jabbering Floyd... He ripped a hard left hook to the testes and a right hook to the brain stem. He was called for the fouls and a 20-strong brawl erupted. Floyd calmly waited for order to be restored while Zab took swings at opposing team members. It wasn’t a boring affair, but Floyd remembered his #1 job was winning the fight. Zab forgot all about that and went with the flow.
Floyd would have been DQ’d for his seconds flying into the ring, but Zab’s people also jumped into the ring a second later and that negated any action that would have been a certain DQ for Floyd. The expression on Floyd face was “I’m bored. It’s a disgrace I have to put up with these fools.”

Pretty Boy had a very good fight with Gatti..
Money May vs. Cotto was another top fight
Money May vs. Cotto was another top fight
Re: What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
Mayweather-Cotto was the most competitive fight Floyd had.. Cotto got Floyd with a lot of nice jabs.. He had a good jab -- too bad he was so short.

Totally agree with this.golden oldie wrote:Most of them tbh. The guy might leave plenty to be desired as a person, but F&&K, when he was in that ring, it was something to behold. Like most people that are truly great at WHATEVER they choose to do, he made it look almost easy at times.

Not a gatti fan? I agree with the cotto fight.Ruthless-RKO wrote:Pretty Boy had a very good fight with Gatti..

The Cotto fight would've been among Floyd's Top 5 most entertaining fights in his career certainly. Most competitive fight I saw Floyd in where I didn't think the other guy had beaten him, but had still given him a tough night. Cotto won at least 3 or 4 rounds that night which is better than a lot of guys did against Floyd.

Re: What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
To me, the great Floyd Mayweather, Jr's fight was when he gave Diego Corrales a brutal ass whupping. He was at his very best that night. To me, it was his most extraordinary and complete performance.
Re: What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
No it wasn't... Corrales was weight drained and weaker than dandelion fluff... He couldn't have beaten anybody that night much less Floyd Mayweather
That's like saying Pacquiao was at his best for De La Hoya -- or Ward was brilliant versus Dawson... A weight drained opponent can't do crap!!

Go and tidy your room and put your dolls house away.
Re: What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
Floyd was brilliant vs gatti. Yes gatti isn’t elite, but he showed how an elite boxer deals with a guy not on there level
Re: What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
That UFC bloke he beat. It didnt last as long as the others.
Re: What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
enjoyed seeing his skill set, he made it look so easy which probably made people underappreciate him, loved the Hatton fight but that was probably more to do with me being a brit and getting caught up in all the hype (which was huge over this side of the pond), by the time he was fighting the likes of Cotto and Canelo he really was out there on his own, a great fighter

The 1st Castillo fight.

I was rooting for Diego Corrales. Magnificent performance by Pretty Boy Floyd. Diego got whupped. End of story.Kalan wrote:No it wasn't... Corrales was weight drained and weaker than dandelion fluff... He couldn't have beaten anybody that night much less Floyd Mayweather

Re: What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
cuz he was badly weight drained -- end of story... He would have been beaten anyway, but he was so weak he never showed up...
Re: What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
The most interesting for me were the fights vs: ODLH, Maidana 1, Judah, Corrales, Jesus Chavez, Castillo 1, Hatton, Gatti.
Re: What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
The last one...
Because it showed that a rank amateur who never boxed in his life could riddle Floyd with punches for 3 straight rounds.
And then the Zab Judah fight... Because Zab was landing clusters of punches on Floyd for 4 rounds... He knocked him down too...
If Zab could punch he would have had Floyd outta there. He wasn't big or strong enough like Errol Spence, who knocked the shitt out of Floyd.

Re: What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
By the way, that fight, of course, was a total mismatch and looked more like a show, but in the result it was entertaining, although it wasn't competitive.
Re: What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
It started out pretty damned competitive... McGregor showed no endurance whatever and was done by the 4th.
The man didn't do roadwork which is a must for Boxing... Especially when you don't know what you're doing -- you'll get tired real fast.

Re: What is your favorite Floyd Mayweather fight?
It wasn't competitive because McGregor was any good though, FMM just let him punch himself out. A good tactic considering McGregor said he was 170lb on fight night, about 20lbs heavier, 12 years younger and FMM hadn't fought for 2 years. FMM toyed with him and after the fight his dad said Mayweather hardly trained or done any running in preparation. It was a circus show.
