Alan Brazil v Chris Eubank

If you can try locate a recorded piece from Talksport this morning from the Alan Brazil show.

Alan was talking about Tyson Fury possibly fighting Tony Bellew then moving onto a fight with AJ.

Asking Eubank, Brazil asked him what he thought of the idea of Fury fighting Bellew. Eubank said cant we talk about Jr? Brazil said as this was a boxing news issue and Eubank has boxing experience what was his thoughts. Again Eubank said that Fury was only an apprentice and never learned how to fight. Brazil pulled him up on that and Eubank replied 'my mother taught me if i had nothing good to say dont say anything, so lets move on'.

Brazil said, ok lets go to the travel news, Eubank came back with 'Arent you going to hear me out'? Brazil said 'no we are going to the travel news' and promptly cut him off.

I feel that Sr says things to get responses and make news that helps his PR and now his sons PR. Fury has responded and many others have jumped on the bandwagon. I doubt Sr loses sleep over people calling him names but i believe its all done for publicity.

I just liked the way Brazil cut him off this morning before he got to say loads about his son.

Eubank 2 weight world champion, 20plus world title fights, a record post war crowd at old trafford.

But tyson achieved more

Tyson should accept that it's him who made him feel how he did. Nobody else. His achievement was meteoric and he's a tremendous boxer. Any negativity from outside forces is for him to give weight to or not.

If I were him I'd give no weight to the words of Chris Eubank.

Benn was a top fighter to be fair, well, by the time of the rematch anyway. Calzaghe was also a top, top fighter.
Eubank might rub people up the wrong way and what he’s done here makes him look like a twat, but he had a great career and picked up some good wins despite not being the same after Watson 2. Rochigiani in particular was a good win.

He’s acted like a complete wanker here though, and I’m a fan of his. Looking forward to the excuses when Groves knocks his son out.

Eubank could be amazing or could be terrible. He had intense rivalries with Watson and Benn, the second and first of which are two of the greatest fights ever waged in the U.K.

Eubank wouldn’t look good again until he put some weight on, when he nearly unseated WBO cruiserweight king, and warrior, Carl Thompson. I’d say Thompson is one of the mentally strongest ever British fighters. In another epic, one in which I had him winning at least six of 12 rounds and scoring a knockdown...

Steve Collins beat Eubank when he had nothing left at the weight (still Eubank sent him flying with a right hand but wouldn’t go for the finish after the Watson result) and then went on to beat the shell of Nigel Benn. Then didn’t do anything with his title.

Eubank did plenty. Collins was a very good contender who peaked at the fag end of the Benn and Eubank era but didn’t pursue rivalries of his own...

Yeah he certainly had his moments of glory & was a very good fighter, but he's lying to himself if he thinks he's got a top top resume
