Rey Vargas vs Oscar Negrete

Vargas defends his WBC Super Bantamweight title against unbeaten Colombian Negrete on the Cotto/Ali card this weekend, never seen Negrete before, hope he's not a walkover job, I thought Vargas looked good against Ronny Rios last time out, he's a polished boxer but can fight it out as well. deserved the win, its gonna be hard for any SBWS to beat him, there's not much depth in that division at the minute apart from Rigondeaux and Magdaleno, Vargas is in the mix with those 2, cant see him losing this one but having never seen Negrete who knows?

Vargas retains his title via wide UD, 1 judge had him winning every round whilst the other 2 had it 119-109(ditto) it was a bit of bull/matador type fight, Negrete never stopped coming forward and trying but Vargas was too tall and he used his height and reach to full effect, tagging Negrete coming in then quickly slipping out of range, Vargas dug in some solid body shots as well, Negrete never gave up though and plugged away, Vargas was just too skilled for him, Vargas was cut over both eyelids as well after headclashes but never got flustered and continued to outbox Negrete with little fuss
