Without old boxers?

So you're out and out saying that we should ignore the past just to fit your narrative?

It's like the dumbest oxy moron. Top 50 ever without old. So is it Top 50 modern era boxers? After 1980? If it's modern era, then it isn't top 50 ever.

Just for the hell of it. Here's my Top 50 ever. I didn't put a lot of thought into it so things could be changed around, but I'm sure I put a lot more thought into than Jip. He'd apparently just name the first 50 boxers that come to mind.

I will include some good old boxers.

New boxer, 1970-2018 became just better, more athletic over time, like in every single other sport. Footballer from the past look stiiff and slow compared to footballer today. Back than 10 sec was a world record time, now athletes run 9,60 sec in 100 m. Basketballplayer were unathletic slow to guys like jordan, iverson & james.

Everything Evolved, so did boxing. Than there are rare exceptions of athletes who were so athletic, so good, that they would have been elite no matter 1950 or 2020. Wilt chamberlain, maradona & pele, ali, robinson....etc..

Just off the bat, you mistakenly believe that more athletic means the person is automatically better. That isn't the case. Sports are also a science that requires smarts, agility, acquired skill, drive, heart, and wits. Slow Larry Bird is a better basketball player than 95% of the "more athletic" players today.

Indeed. Sometimes a great strategic mind, and understanding of the sport you're competing in is as valuable as anything. Which is why a guy like Locche makes my list. He wasn't a stellar athletic talent necessarily, but he was as crafty as they come.

I would look at any greatest list without Ali at number 1 with suspicion even if it is no more than harmless fun.

The greatest entertainer both inside and outside the ring.
The bravest boxer you could imagine.
The most famous face in sport.
The favourite boxer amongst boxers.
The most godlike talent inside the ring (1965-67 - although the more I see of early Tyson the more I wonder).

The bravest - i think ALL boxer are equaly brave, they all risk there life. Abraham lost so much blood and continuied to fight against miranda. Other fought till death.
The most famous. Yup.
The favourite amongs boxer, probably robinson. Alis favourite boxer was robinson.
The most godlike talent inside the ring, go watch jones against pazienza on yutub

Looks like you didn't... There's a lack of boxers from the 21st Century on your list... Did Boxing fall off the Planet in the year 2000???

From all reports, the sport has spread about the globe like wildfire and there're more boxers than ever today... Since training methods have improved and evolved, and the sweet science itself has evolved, there's a lot of terrific athletes out there to choose from.

it's tough to earn your way into the Top 50 in this day and age. It can be done, but there's a lot of work to be done first. Mayweather, Pac and B-Hop make the cut.

Bullshitt.... It's 10 times better.. You had to sneak off to do weight training and specialized conditioning in the old days because the old trainers didn't believe in it.. But anybody who did it got great results.. Better and faster punching, quicker footwork, more spring and better resistance.
