Cotto for me. Wide on the cards.

Cotto is past his peak but to beat him you need to be World-Class or a good mover. Smith is neither.

Can’t see Cotto deciding to stick around just for Beefy.

Cotto has already said he's retired, if he fought on his heart wouldn't be in it, so I've picked the youth of Smith to be served, by close dec.
If Cotto was bang-up for it, it would be very different... :box:

Since Cotto is saying his fight this weekend is his last I won't speculate on any "What if" bouts of his future until he confirms that he does in fact have a future in the sport...which wouldn't surprise me at all.

This weekend against Sadam Ali or in a fantasy matchup against Smith?

You're one of the only people I've seen hating on Cotto this week.

I don't recall Cotto storming out of the ring like a petulant diva at any point in his career.

He's got previous for sorting out the ring. Done it against Trout. Nah I hope Ali beats him.

Used to like him as a fighter but went off him in recent years.

He left the ring after the decision was announced that he'd lost to Trout. He didn't "storm out". He was even asked while on the way back to the dressing room area "Do you intend to fight again Miguel?" to which he calmly answered "Probably" and then just kept walking.

Was he supposed to lift up Trout and parade him around the ring or something?

Show me a fighter that walks around the ring all smiles, and posing for cameras with the guy that just beat him after a loss, and I'll show you a jackass who's desperately trying to keep the attention on him in spite of the fact that at this moment it's not about him.

He walked out in a huff mate. Who said he had to parade him around? I don't care for him anymore, you do! It's not a big deal.

He's an ignorant twat away from the ring (so I've heard). He was middleweight champ and bitched out of fighting GGG but was ok to take on Martinez corpse!

Ali for a 'farewell' fight is hardly awe inspiring either!

I only look forward to his fights so I can perv on his wife's udders :maybe:

I'm a fan of Cotto but he took the huff at the Trout decision. Fans pay a lot of money to go to fights or to watch on TV, he could have at least gave a 30 second interview. It was the right decision too, he clearly lost.

But tbf to Cotto, he's always been fair in picking his opponents, he fights live opponents who are not well known - almost the opposite matchmaking strategy of Fraud Mayweather.

Yeah I'd want Cotto to beat Smith. I don't particularly like Cotto but the Smiths are a special breed of wanker!

Saddam Ali is an exciting fighter, its going to be all action (although i think its got to be around 90/10 in favour of MC).

I like Cotto because he's never been in a bad fight in a long almost 20 year career. I don't really care that his final opponent isn't awe inspiring. Fighters at the end of the line don't need to have legacy defining fights anymore. They've already had them.

I was annoyed at him for not fighting GGG, but I can forgive that. Seemed to be going around the Middleweight division for about 3 years there...the ducking GGG thing that is.

Why does a losing fighter who just spent most of an hour in a ring fighting a guy owe you or anybody else a post fight interview?

I personally don't care to hear from the losing fighter in most cases. We'll hear from him again next time he fights. That's good enough for me.

Exceptions where I don't mind hearing from the losing fighter is if either A) They're announcing their retirement from the sport or B) They think they got robbed, and people agree with them.

I fancy Cotto to stop Ali in 8. Don't blame Ali fir taking the fight, it's a great opportunity but Cotto is levels above Ali.

Did he even congratulate the largely unheard of Trout on biggest win of his career?

I still like Cotto but in that instance he was a sore loser.

Is that a rule that you have to do that?

He's getting pats on the back from all the people around him, and cheers from the crowd. Does he really need the guy he just beat to congratulate him too?

Don't really get why you guys would give Cotto sh*t about this.

I haven't been in that position, but I doubt I'd be the most happy go lucky guy wanting to shake hands and kiss babies after losing a fight either. Just sayin'.
