No, you've misunderstood me. He was in the bar when the victim was shot to death. I've just checked it on Google search, the victim was called Michael Barr.
Conor McGregor “Dublin Brawl”
Re: Conor McGregor “Dublin Brawl”
Oh right, I didn't know that he was a fellow Ulsterman.
I just assumed that he was involved with Hutch, because the hit was done by The Kinahans' boys.

Re: Conor McGregor “Dublin Brawl”
Anyway this "brawl" sounds a bit media hype bit nonsense, kinda like McGregor in general!
Re: Conor McGregor “Dublin Brawl”
Kind of do agree mate. Think its time to try something different to try and solve the problem anyway. I think you still would see an increase in drug users amongst the younger generation by legalizing it...but again your right in saying the problem isn,t really with the recreational drug users. Recreational drug use is probably going up ATM anyway amongst that group with how easy it is to get your hands on cocaine etc nowadays. Can just see the numbers increasing regardless. Legalising does seriously need looked into tho. The thing is there never gonna get the money for mental illness support without something radical...due to the sheer amount of people having mental problem of some kind nowadays. Probably why some go to drugs in the first place.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑01 Dec 2017, 08:04Very thought out response that mate, which is not common in today's world. The argument is, if Heroin was legal, for example, I still wouldn't touch it. Nor would 99% of people. The majority of people don't smoke anymore. Why? Education, they know it kills them. The problem isn't recreational drug use, it's drug addicts. Addiction is an illness. The legal status of drugs doesn't affect an addict one bit. It costs so money ££££££££ to lock up addicts and when will do, it never helps cure their addiction. It we transferred that money to mental illness support, recovery etc, drug addiction would go down dramatically (i.e. the Portugal model)bbjc wrote: ↑30 Nov 2017, 19:15My worry would be bearing in mind the British mentality we,d be a lot more likely to "get involved". Even just watch the Portuguese eating...it takes hours. Drinking beer they savior it on the other hand a trip to the brewers fayres here in britains finished in about fifteen minutes. We have about 8 pints to warm up. Cocaine comes out and we,re like gives the bag.liamlion wrote: ↑30 Nov 2017, 18:49
Not quite mate. Legalisation of drugs is working out very well in Portugal. And if you consider that alcohol is possibly the most harmful drug of all, half of the country isn't alcoholic just because it is legal. Like anything, addiction is often based more so on personality
I m not sure Britain would be the best place for it. Although at this point it probably is worth a trial of some kind.
Think alcohols the bigger problem cause there's more people using it. Almost everyone outs drinking or drinking in the house etc I bet there's a lot less people on the drugs. Bet there's a lot more teenagers etc willing to get involved if it was legal. Interesting topic tho. In theory its a good idea but still a bit of a risk.
Still have reservations about it tho...a lot of people are wise enough or educated enough to stay away from hard drugs. Heroin etc. But does it become a situation with the next generation its a "come on its legal...its harmless". Not heroin but the less harmful drugs. Pretty much the situation we,ve got with alcohol atm...Before long their hooked. And it becomes an addiction. Look at people that go to Amsterdam...I know people in their 50,s never touched drugs...but when their out there their smoking marijana. Pretty understandable. But does it then become a whole new generation with cocaine binges pretty much like what we,re doing with alcohol. I m not saying its the worst thing in the world...but is it another problem we need. Who knows. Definitely would,nt mind seeing some kind of trial in the future tho.
Re: Conor McGregor “Dublin Brawl”
If you legalise drugs you can control them, you know what is in them. The problem with drugs being illegal is that there are no trading standards, there is no regulation, you buy a tablet thinking it's ecstacy but you don't have a fornicating clue what is really in it. You regulate drugs it makes them safer and it takes the trade away from unscrupulous bastards who go around bullying people.

Genuinely curious why it seems so different to other cultures. The only thing I've seen similar is when Scandinavians come to Liverpool for the football and have a skinful because it's so much cheaper than at home for them. Surely it can't just be the price?

We are talking about a billion pound drugs cartel noted for several high profile executions not a bunch of hoodlums from the local council estate. I doubt pablo Escobar did much fist fighting in his day.tigermoth87 wrote: ↑29 Nov 2017, 02:23 Good on Connor
All these gangsters are nothing but cowards, bullies and plastic hardmen.
Threatening to shoot Connor is proof of that. Surely if they were real men they'd settle it with their fists rather than hiding behind guns? Oh wait, they just tried that and Connor beat them to a pulp.

People who think "real men" should be having it on the cobbles fundamentally misunderstand the mentality of those involved in the international drug trade. These people are killers, and killers kill. That's not to lionise them but large scale criminal syndicates whose concerns cross national borders are a world away from the world of the "put your dukes up" pub hardman.
It may be an extreme example, but if you upset a Mexican cartel they're not looking to beat you in a fist fight to show you who's boss. Their violence is worlds beyond that. These are people who murder mayors (https://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/17/opin ... ayors.html) and behead police chiefs (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... -box.htmls).
In the world of violence being good at fighting is useful. In the grand scheme of things though it doesn't get you to the premier league.

They also kill entire families.
