Fights You Regret Staying Late Up For

This is not a dig to the Cotto-Ali fight. It was a good fight IMO..

But my fellow UK fans, there must be some fights that took place across the pond that you must have been hyped for and stayed up, whether you stayed up til 3am or 5am.. it's still more or less all your night gone!

I'll start.. A more recent one..

Canelo Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

TBH, I watched the whole card on Box-Nation.. and I got a bit tired around the Lemieux fight. I thought Lem would KO Rios, but the fight kind of got dragged. I was thinking I could have just slept for a few hours, But I was at my mates house. Then the main event started and I was already sleepy. Not much action.. My mate was kinda knocked out on the sofa. Nothing really happened to really open my eye. I had work in the morning at 10am!! The only thing that woke me up was the Canelo-GGG announcement after the fight.

All I know is, I would never watch this fight for a second time, ever.

I was expecting, if not a classic then an excellent back and forth fight. Instead I got shite.

That's bad. I hate Chavez Jr and that was an atrocious fight. Watch him fight Benevidez in the next year.

I stayed up for Calzaghe Hopkins and that was obviously a total stinker! I was shattered from working a crazy amount of hours that week and I really struggled to stay awake! I regretted it the following week when I was walking about like a fuckin zombie!

I used to stay awake so much more. These days I set the alarm, go to bed around nine, wake up and watch it live, then maybe have a few more hours kip if it's a fight I'm looking forward to. If it's one I want to see but aren't that bothered about I just record and watch in the morning. I don't know why the latter means a bit less, (I've never had the result spoiled.) Just a daft thing about wanting to watch it live.

Like some have said, I've stayed up for Mayweather fights wanting him to lose and inevitably regretted watching him stink his way to a stress-free win.

Mayweather v Hatton. Was the same night as my works xmas do and having already bought the ppv I was determined to do both. Got home well oiled after midnight and couldn't decide whether to set the alarm and have a kip or stay up and drink coffee for 4 hours. Ended up cracking a few more beers and fell into an alcohol-induced coma around 3am with the telly on. Woke up at the start of the 10th and watched two Ricky Hattons being knocked about by two Floyd Mayweathers assisted by two Joe Cortez' ffs. Had put a few quid on Hatton too even though I very rarely bet.

To be fair to Tyson, bonehugger is a big strong guy and had him in an armlock most of the fight. He should have been dq'd for holding.
