Miguel Cotto vs. Sadam Ali - Box-Nation- Who's watching?

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Hey UK fans. I would have waited til tomorrow morning.. both men have weighed in..

Image

Cotto came in at 151 pounds and Ali at 153.. Cotto's lowest in 8 years. And of course Ali's career high.

I have the running order below..

Box-Nation is live on air at 2am! (UK Sunday morning)..

*Please note, all fights subject to change without notice.

***

Angel ACOSTA v Juan ALEJO

12 x 3 Minute Rounds: Light-Flyweight Contest

***

Follows

Rey VARGAS v Oscar NEGRETE

12 x 3 Minute Rounds: The WBC Super-Bantamweight Title

***

Follows

Miguel COTTO v Sadam ALI

12 x 3 Minute Rounds: The WBO Super-Welterweight Title

***

Any UK fans going to be awake to witness Cotto's final boxing match?
I don't believe he will fight after this. Cotto's fight will likely start around 4am..

I'll be awake.

I'll watch it on Sun morning. Looking forward to the two world title fights on the undercard more than the main.

I was going to do the same.. But I haven't got work tomorrow. So I may as well watch it live. Not sure many UK fans will stay up for this.

I will have my Wild Card 🇵🇷 t-shirt on.

Saving a big bottle of corona for 4am aswell (Don’t know any Puerto Rico beers)

BN will be fun with Bunce and Lillis tonight.

Lillis is class on Cotto nights. You can tell it’s his favourite fighter.

I haven't decided yet. On at 11pm here but I might be in bed as I'm not feeling 100% and am on day 3 of a 9 day work stretch.

Cotto hasn't really interested me the last few years. It just feels like he's been on a farewell tour since Martinez.

Saying that I'll probably be glued to the telly in 12 hours time, palms sweating :OhYes:

I think the same, he wanted to be his nations first ever 4-weight division champion, he could achieve that by challenging Martinez. He won, he did what he always wanted. Since then, he fought..

Geale - Nice win for a legit defence.
Canelo - Last big paycheck minimum $15 million
Kamegai - Securing a vacant title
Ali - Final fight.

I got 18/1 in-play on Ali in round 3. Couldn’t believe it wasn’t a mis-price.

Gutted Cotto couldn't bow out with a win but I thought Ali deserved it(115-113) he hurt Cotto several times throughout the fight, mostly with left hooks although the first time Ali hurt him in the 2nd was with a right hand, I wasn't surprised Ali was able to land early but I was surprised by how much his shots had an effect on Cotto, I had Ali sweeping the first 4 rounds then Cotto up 5-4 before Ali finished a bit stronger as Cotto's workrate slowed

Ali looked sharp and maybe could've pressed more when he hurt Cotto but Cotto is always dangerous so I can understand him keeping it reined in, fair play to Cotto for getting himself back into the fight after a torrid start but it wasn't his night

Farewell to a boxing legend :box:

He is the mandatory. Ali can vacate, it's up to him.
