Shock Carman loss leads to Commonwealth heavyweight title mandatory shake-up

In the latest Commonwealth Boxing Council bulletin, Lenroy Thomas was informed he will no longer be able to defend his heavyweight title against Dave Allen next.

The pair were set to face-off in a rematch in October until the fight was rescheduled for the December 17 David Haye v Tony Bellew card only for the event to be delayed further.

Due to Commonwealth rules, Thomas was ordered to follow through with a mandatory defence against Canadian Dillon Carman.

Carman suffered a shock loss to undefeated Mladen Miljas on Friday night in Niagara Falls and has now been removed from the mandatory position.

Hon Secretary Simon Block stated the CBC would now access the situation before making a new announcement.
Dillon Carman beaten last night. Looks like there goes our Commonwealth @commboxing mandatory challenge to @LenroyTNT So often the CBC creates the opportunity and it rebounds in our faces. Still, we've just got to get on with it !

almost makes the commonwealth lot seem like a professional mob.

I had no idea there even were ratings or mandatory systems of any sort?

the heavyweight situation has been a mess for a while now.

I don't know what in hell made Dillon Carman a contender for anything, he was awful and so was his record.

logically Mladen Miljas would now be the mandatory contender?

  :brick:

I see they've still got Fielding vs Singh listed for the SMW title. Thought Fielding would have vacated/been stripped after he signed to fight Skoglund on the Haye-Bellew card? Is that fight still happening?

It wasn't a shock at all I fully expected Miljas to win
